In short

As a key contributor to the sportswear revolution, you will be instrumental in developing a polymer toolbox for our latest footwear technologies. Working in a collaborative lab environment, you will join forces with the footwear creation team and the innovation team. You will partner closely with polymer specialists, engineers, product developers, to develop new materials to fuel On's broader material innovation efforts. Your work will drive advancements in our product materials, ultimately shaping the future of On’s performance-driven sportswear. Additionally, you will collaborate strategically with external laboratories and key partners to create materials that align with our brand direction and inspire the future of innovative footwear concepts.

Your Mission

  • Be part of On’s innovation team and develop new polymers (specifically foams and elastomeric polymers) for innovative footwear technologies that will enable us to create a wider range of products.
  • Work at the intersection of polymer science and engineering and test your new formulation with our Asia base suppliers.
  • Be in charge of the mechanical analysis on material to make sure materials reach our quality standard.
  • Work on sustainable solutions to reduce On’s carbon footprint. In collaboration with the sustainability team you will innovate, by injecting immediate implementations into the product as well as reaching high for our ambitious roadmap.
  • Be the main of point of contact for questions related to our foam portfolio between inline ZH / VN.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development, costing, sustainability, and sourcing teams.

Your story

  • Master or Phd in Polymer science or strongly related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in polymer development within the performance footwear industry is a plus.
  • Experience in working with Asian partners working on new materials and polymers.
  • Advanced knowledge in various processes such as injection molding, injection supercritical foaming, chemical foaming.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Advanced experience in polymer analysis such as DSC, Microscopy, quasi static tests.
  • Advanced knowledge across different engineering disciplines (mechanical testing, manufacturing technologies).
  • Sustainability is at the center of everything you do.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Bring any questions you have about the job, the team or anything else you might like to know – this is an open forum.

  • Step Four

    The Case Study

    What's your style? This task will help us understand how you think, face a challenge and give insight into your novel ideas. Designed to give everyone their best shot, your case study is based on something you might typically experience on the job. This is your chance to show us what you’ve got. So express yourself. Be you.

  • Step Five

    The Experience Day

    Your first taste of the Oniverse. This is a time to meet some of the people you'll be working closest with. In person or virtually, you'll get a feel for the day-to-day at On and the people who make it happen. You'll chat with a few potential teammates - the conversations will be as equally driven by the role and your experience as by our values. We believe how you do things is just as important as what you do.

  • Step Six

    The Result

    Are we a good fit? We’ll get together internally to share our feedback and decide if we’re a match. We know that job searching is a big time investment, so it’s not a decision we take lightly.
