a day in the life

  • Directly partners with Retail Leaders (AM+ and then GEL, POL, Community Specialist, Visual Specialist) and available for Retail employees (EDU, KL, SBL, SIL). Through the application of timely, considered, and objective people support, the Senior P&C Advisor works to accomplish business objectives and support resolutions for day-to-day matters. The role aims to provide a consistent and equitable people experience for all.
  • Provides support to RM+ scenarios at the discretion of the PCM.
  • Senior P&C Advisors are available, subject matter experts and solution makers.
  • Deliver frontline counsel and guidance in talent and performance management, employee relations, change management. This includes systems and projects.
  • Supports the overall Area strategy in partnership with PCM. Ensures SRD (Senior Retail Director) alignment in project initiatives and supports in the delivery and follow through of the project work.
  • Work in collaboration with cross functional teams and other area level partners, including People & Culture Manager and IDEA partner to align on the correct approach to support the Retail leaders.
  • Work through the lens of IDEA, upholding the company standards of inclusion, diversity, equity and action.

responsibilities

  • Generalist
    • Partner: Directly supports People & Culture Manager, Retail Leaders and Retail Employees.
    • Strategy: Provides guidance and operational support on short term strategy work pertaining to the employee experience. Possibility to support long term strategy in project work if assigned.
      • Level of Service: Provide effective and timely P&C support and counsel to employee and manager inquiries on various P&C related topics including assisting to interpret defined P&C policies and procedures.
    • Compliance: Coach and advise to ensure compliance with internal human resource policies and practices (lululemon employee handbook and code of conduct) and with relevant labor and employment legislation.
    • Investigations: Support People Practices with the investigation process as required, and with the follow up and execution of the outcome.
    • Compensation: Support P&C Managers with bi-annual compensation review, compensation advisement for lead level - SM roles, ad-hoc compensation requests and bonus programs.
    • Recruitment: Coach and advise on the company standards of equitable recruiting and hiring (Hiring 2.0). Prepare offers in unique internal situations, and in collaboration with Talent Acquisition, provide interview support for Retail leaders in the AM/SM population.
    • Talent Management/Pipeline: Support the PCM as required
    • New Leader Integrations: Host Retail leader integrations, as needed
    • Separations: Provide advice in relation to involuntary separation requests from managers to ensure compliance with company policy and practices, determine legal exposure by verifying applicable legislation, and make a recommendation to retail leaders on how to proceed. Prepare and administer termination notices and related documentation around termination of employment.
    • Exit interviews: Conduct exit interviews for Retail leaders to identify issues within the team and provide recommendation on action plans for improvement. Monitor and report on trends.
    • Managing for Performance: Support P&C Managers and Retail leaders in performance improvement practices (PIPs) to ensure the consistency and clarity of PIPS and conduct warnings with the intention of improving an employee's performance.
    • Coaching: Through asking powerful questions, Advisors use HR knowledge to support business leaders in making their own decisions to produce equitable and inclusive working environments for their teams.
    • People Safety/AP: Partners with Asset Protection on people safety matters.
    • Accommodations: In partnership with Benefits Team, support Retail leaders and employees with accommodation request cases and follow up with internal and external partners on progression of each file including return to work planning. Work with PCM in more complex cases. Provide an equitable experience for those requesting accommodations.
    • Leaves: In partnership with Benefits Team, support Retail employees and leaders through complex leave options and outline the leaves process and policies in youlu.
    • Store visits: Execute store visit strategy in partnership with PCM. Works in alignment of the store visit strategy, or in service of a strategic initiative.
    • Store Meetings: Attends store leadership and staff meetings on an as needed basis, with the intent to listen, learn and support conversation.
    • Pulse: Manage employee pulse processes, monitor employee engagement, and provide advice and recommendation on action plans to build on strengths and address areas of dis-satisfaction.
    • Reporting: Manage, run and assess day to day reporting as needed in order to inform decision making to positively influence the employee experience.
    • Employee Records: Validate and confirm that all P&C administrative forms and systems are correctly completed by managers with appropriate approvals. This includes and is not limited to Workday.
    • Workday: Ensure that all Workday people transactions are completed in a timely manner along with general P&C administration management in partnership with People Experiences support team (PEC). Support Retail leaders with Workday related tasks.
    • ServiceNow
    • Projects/Pillar Work: Possibility of being assigned strategic initiative responsibilities for a fixed period that are outside of the cyclical and day to day P+C support models. Consults and advises on updates, project and strategic initiative roll outs, in alignment with Senior PCM and PCM. Assigned different levels of contribution to a project with a goal of having a consistent service delivery to the retail org.
    • Change Management: Guide Retail leaders through the process of change through change management tools and resources for both them and their teams.
    • Employee Intake: Point of contact for Retail leaders and retail employees.

qualifications

  • 2-5 years' experience as an HR generalist
  • HR Certification is an asset, and not required
  • Retail Experience is an asset, and not required
  • Fully bilingual in French and Spanish (verbal and written)

Compensation and Benefits Package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $81,100-106,500 USD; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program subject to program eligibility requirements.
