a day in the life: what you'll do

Responsible for production systems, focusing on how products are delivered and can be optimized for efficiency, security, resiliency, and reliability. Act as a main contributor for product roadmaps and reliability strategy. Partner with project management to deliver status and performance updates. Conduct research to aid in product development and tools selection. Act as an escalation point and participate in on-call support rotations. Monitor key metrics, reports on trends, and make improvement recommendations. Facilitate an Engineering Community of Practice for products. Contribute to engineering automation, management and development of production level systems. Review product roadmaps and guide intake acceptance for a set of production systems. Own reliability and delivery for a defined set of production systems. Set direction for web engineers in the Commerce space, and partner with the Micro Web App Platform team to implement technologies like module federation into the commerce web application.

The Senior Engineer II supports lululemon's Digital Commerce & Omni-channel fulfillment experience, focusing on eCommerce microservices and on web applications. This team is also in the process of transforming a traditional monolith architecture to a cloud native service architecture, including partnering with the Micro Web App Platform team to implement technologies like module federation into the commerce web application.

The development involves the following technologies: React and node.js services; AWS cloud technologies including Lambda, EKS, S3, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch; and Web technologies including HTTP, SSL, Headers, Cookies, TCP, and Caching.

Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days/week.

40 hrs./week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture or a related field, plus 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in Information Technology.

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in integrating web frontends with complex multi-tier applications.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in all of the following (which may be gained concurrently):

React, and node.js services;

Providing operational production support for cloud-based applications utilizing modern architecture;

AWS cloud technologies including Lambda, EKS, S3, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch;

Web technologies including HTTP, SSL, Headers, Cookies, TCP, and Caching

Of the required experience, must have 3 year(s) of experience in all of the following:

SEOAB testing, telemetry, and delivery of functional features to support guest facing experiences.

Utilization of microservice architecture & building cloud-native apps

CI/CD principles

This role is classified as Hybrid under our SSC Workplace Policy:

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.

compensation and benefits package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $183,600.00 - $203,600.00 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
