About this role:

Supports People & Culture policy management, ensuring policies foster a respectful, positive and inclusive working environment where employees are treated fairly, consistently and in line with lululemon's culture and values. Facilitates the review and documentation of employment compliance initiatives to support proactive planning and stakeholder engagement. Collaborates with stakeholders to lead initiatives to support compliance with federal, state/ provincial, and local legislation, including implementation and on-going compliance sustainment. Serves as employment compliance subject matter expert to support business initiatives. Supports the global scaling of lululemon's employment compliance program through partnerships with cross-functional leaders and partners.

A day in the life:

  • Remain informed on employee policy, trends and updates to legislation.
  • Recognize the impact to our current policies and procedures, taking the appropriate partners to remain compliant and/ or get ahead of any trends in legislation.
  • Lead the development and revision of People & Culture policies, frameworks, governance process and supporting materials and consult on these policies where necessary.
  • Respond to escalated policy and compliance inquiries and consult on escalated policy and compliance related ER matters.
  • Review, communicate and action opportunities identified from compliance reporting, monitoring and assessments.
  • Makes recommendations for policy and compliance process changes within areas of responsibility.
  • Makes recommendations for resolution following investigation.

Key Inputs:

  • Partnership and collaboration with People & Culture (P&C), cross-functional and operational leaders across the globe
  • Consulting from legal
  • Source for education on industry trends and employment law updates
  • Partnership with other cross-functional partners such as Asset Protection, People & Safety, P&C CoEs, Legal, etc.

Key Outputs:

  • Policies, practices, tools and resources to support the employee experience and compliance with federal, state/ provincial and local legislations pertaining to employment matters
  • Education, coaching, consulting, and guidance on compliance, employment law, policies and trends
  • Proactive support to mitigate risk and support a safe, healthy and respectful working environment

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience with a focus on compliance and policy development
  • A post secondary diploma, degree or certificate in human resource management
  • Knowledge of employment/labour standards and human rights legislation and industry trends
  • Strong communication skills both written & verbal
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and abilities, detail-oriented and committed to a high degree of accuracy
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple demands from a variety of sources
  • Builds relationships quickly; must be an effective team player
  • Strong analytical skills

Compensation and Benefits Package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $81,500-$107,000 CADannually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
