About this team

The Sample Room team is responsible for creating samples, mockups and performing alterations to support the design and development of lululemon product. The Sample Room team works in collaboration with Product and Brand partners to execute their requests and support the product creation process. 

A day in the life

  • Oversee and lead the Sample Room team and Team Leads, to execute on deliverables. The Manager mentors the team, supports employee development, career pathways and performance
  • Drive internal process efficiency and fit excellence standards, collaborating with Sample Room Team Leads and external partners as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring maintenance of Sample Room equipment, to ensure equipment is operating optimally
  • Liaise with PD/TD to understand core materials (including fabric, trims) required to execute product as well as Sample Room Inventory is up to date
  • Understanding of GTM calendar and cross functional priorities to ensure workload is delivered on time
  • Liaise with Quality Development to remain informed about business initiatives that impact sample assembly and production
  • Create and maintain Sample Room SOPs regarding requirements and outcomes for execution of work
  • Liaise with cross functional product teams to keep abreast of business needs and upcoming asks of Sample Room

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with focused training in Pattern Engineering, Technical Development, Product Development
  • Minimum 8 years of experience, combination of people management and industry experience
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor and lead a team
  • Experience working with manufactures across Asia, America and Europe preferred
  • Knowledge of yield consumption and seaming and bonding techniques
  • Knowledge of multiple fabrics- applying pre cut process and expert and efficient in cutting fabric
  • Knowledge of fabrics including pulling correct thread, applying correct construction and expert ability to handle different fabrics
  • Proficient at reading patterns and cutters must
  • Ability to place pattern to achieve desired print and graphic placement
  • Ability to assemble various product types
  • Proficient at measuring samples and pressing or steaming sample garments
  • Independently and efficiently thread and operate industrial machines including flatlock, serger, cover stitch. Independently operate rotary blade cutter and fabric shears  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs and Smartsheet
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate objectives and give clear direction to achieve desired deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various projects and calendars simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills

Compensation and Benefits Package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $129,600– 170,100annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

Hybrid

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
