Who we are

lululemon is a yoga-inspired technical apparel company up to big things. The practice and philosophy of yoga informs our overall purpose to elevate the world through the power of practice. We are proud to be a growing global company with locations all around the world, from Vancouver to Shanghai, and places in between. We owe our success to our innovative product, our emphasis on our stores, our commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we get to make in every community we are in.

About this team

Reporting to the Director of Product Analytics and Data Science, this role leads our Data Science function. We want to get up to some big things, and we need a key leader to guide the team. We are embarking on a journey to reimagine our infrastructure and ML ops and dream up new ways to integrate Data Science into the Product space. You will lead a team of diverse and skilled Data Scientists to produce products that support our Product organization: from design, to planning, to assortment, and beyond. You will interface with business stakeholders of the product org to understand complex questions and lead your team to create products that answer them.

For you, people come first. You're a connector, a communicator, a dreamer, a lateral thinker, and most of all truly a leader. You're able to see the finer details within their context of the bigger picture, and how it all fits together. People naturally come to you to solve problems, and you're good at it. You love process and structure, but you also know when to break the rules.

Teamwork, leadership, and clear communication are key. You are an essential part of a cross functional team supporting the entire product organization.

A day in the life:

  • Stand powerfully behind your team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers
  • Offer regular 1:1s to direct reports for personal and professional development
  • Liaise with other product teams to understand longer term plans and roadmaps
  • Advise on design and implementation of product systems and services
  • Dream! Enjoy thinking about complex business problems, playing with and devising how you can tease insights and deliver value with our data
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, and Senior Leadership
  • Assist with creating and delivering training on data products and analytical concepts
  • Provide technical and non-technical leadership

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Science or Analyst role in Fashion, Retail, or Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Exemplary communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Extremely organized, thorough and able to prioritize
  • Self directed problem solver, proactive and resourceful

Must haves:

  • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovates to achieve great results.
  • Communicates with honesty and kindness, and creates the space for others to do the same.
  • Leads with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure.
  • Fosters connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships.
  • Integrates fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka doesn't take themselves too seriously.

Authorization to work in Canada is required for this role.
