Full Description
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant international trade laws, regulations, and policies, including export controls, import/export licensing requirements, customs regulations, trade sanctions, and embargoes.
- Design, implement, and enforce internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure consistent compliance with trade regulations across all business units and functions.
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure that trade compliance considerations are integrated into all aspects of the company's global operations, including supply chain management, sourcing, sales, and distribution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate risks associated with international trade activities, such as compliance violations, financial penalties, shipment delays, and reputational damage.
- Lead the development and delivery of comprehensive training and education programs to ensure that employees involved in international trade activities understand their compliance obligations and are equipped to fulfill them effectively.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with government agencies and authorities responsible for regulating international trade, serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries, audits, and enforcement actions.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of trade compliance processes and controls to identify any weaknesses or areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay abreast of developments in international trade regulations and best practices, and proactively advise senior management on potential impacts and opportunities for the company.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Legal Studies, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in global trade compliance or related roles, with a demonstrated track record of success in developing and managing trade compliance programs in a multinational organization.
- Expert knowledge of international trade laws, regulations, and policies, with specific expertise in export controls, customs compliance, and trade sanctions.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, drive change, and implement process improvements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Professional certifications in trade compliance (e.g., Certified Global Trade Compliance Professional - CGTCP) preferred.
- Multilingual skills or regional expertise relevant to the company's international trade markets is preferred
