Position Title: Manager – Corporate Technology
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Direct Report: Technology Operations Officer (1)
Location: BWF Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Deadline: 1st September 2026

Preference: Malaysian citizens are preferred; however, this role is open to all nationalities. There is mandatory attendance at the BWF office in Kuala Lumpur due to the nature of the role.


1. Position Overview

The Manager Corporate Technology is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, delivery and continuous improvement of the Badminton World Federation's corporate technology environment. The role leads BWF's Microsoft-centric business platforms including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dynamics 365 CRM, Business Central, Teams, Power Platform and related services while ensuring reliable IT operations, cyber security, user support and business continuity.

Financial software, and related integrations is a core function. The position partners with business units to improve processes through technology, manages third-party vendors, and provides flexible leadership across technology initiatives as business priorities evolve.

2. Position Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager – Corporate Technology provides strategic leadership for the planning, governance, delivery and continuous improvement of BWF's corporate technology environment. The role is responsible for ensuring that enterprise technology, business applications and digital services effectively support the organisation's strategic objectives, operational efficiency and global activities. Through strong stakeholder engagement, technology governance and the adoption of modern digital solutions, the position enables organisational transformation, protects corporate information assets and delivers secure, reliable and innovative technology services across the Federation.

3.  Key Responsibilities

3.1.  Corporate Technology Leadership

  • Lead and optimize the Microsoft technology ecosystem.
  • Enhance the BWFs Finance and related systems development.
  • Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy.
  • Identify automation and digital improvement opportunities.
  • Advise leadership on technology trends and investments.

3.2.Business Applications

  • Own governance of SharePoint, Dynamics 365 CRM and business systems.
  • Responsible for the finance and related system integration.
  • Gather requirements and oversee solution delivery.
  • Manage testing, release and change management.
  • Maintain data integrity and access controls.
  • Lead the governance, optimisation and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the organisation's financial management platform.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure corporate finance, accounting, budgeting and reporting systems meet business requirements.
  • Oversee technology supporting payroll, human resources, employee lifecycle management and related corporate business systems.
  • Ensure integration, security, data integrity and user adoption across finance, payroll, HR and other corporate platforms.

3.3.IT Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day IT support and end-user services.
  • Ensure effective cyber security, licensing, devices and IT assets.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery.

3.4.Vendor & Project Management

  • Manage outsourced technology providers and service levels.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure documentation using Jira, Confluence or equivalent.

3.5.Leadership & Other Duties

  • Lead and develop the Technology Operations Officer.
  • Build collaborative relationships across BWF.
  • Provide flexible support across technology and digital priorities.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the COO.

  • Strong Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform knowledge.
  • Experience with Financial Accounting Systems.

4. Key Relationships

Internal: Secretary General, COO, Directors, Head of Digital Technology, IT Support Specialist, Head of Finance

External: BWF Member Associations, Continental Confederations, commercial partners,
consultants and technology providers.

5. Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree qualification in Business, Communications, Governance, Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and governance bodies.
  • Experience within an international sporting organisation or membership organisation is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Dynamics CRM experience.

8. Working Environment

This role operates within an international sporting environment supporting more than 203 Member Associations worldwide. The position requires collaboration across multiple time zones and occasional international travel to support governance meetings, Council activities and major BWF events.

  • Successful installation and development of the Microsoft Business Central Finance System, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Technology projects and business system enhancements are successfully delivered, achieving agreed business outcomes, budgets and timelines.
  • Strong stakeholder confidence is demonstrated through effective business partnerships, responsive service delivery and high customer satisfaction.
  • Technology enables measurable organisational improvement through increased digital adoption, process optimisation and innovation.
