Preference: Malaysian citizens are preferred; however, this role is open to all nationalities. There is mandatory attendance at the BWF office in Kuala Lumpur due to the nature of the role.
1. Position Overview
The Corporate Operations Manager provides strategic leadership for the delivery of corporate services across the Badminton World Federation (BWF), ensuring excellence in governance, executive administration, stakeholder engagement, corporate communications and organisational coordination. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, the role enables effective organisational governance, strengthens relationships with BWF Council, Member Associations and international stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement through modern digital workplace practices and business process optimisation.
2. Position Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Corporate Operations Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination and continuous improvement of BWF's corporate services function. The role provides executive support to the Council and senior leadership while ensuring high standards of governance, stakeholder engagement, corporate information management and organisational effectiveness.
3. Key Responsibilities
3.1 Corporate Governance & Executive Support
- Coordinate Council, AGM, Members Forum, Committee and Commission governance processes.
- Prepare agendas, reports, minutes and governance documentation.
- Track actions and maintain governance records.
- Responsible for the content in the BWF Council Portal.
- Manage the annual governance calendar and ensure statutory deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate governance reporting and action tracking across Council, Committees and Commissions.
- Maintain governance policies, records and documentation in accordance with organisational standards.
- Support governance best practice and continuous improvement initiatives.
3.2 Member Association & Stakeholder Services
- Develop productive working relationships with Member Associations and Continental Confederations.
- Coordinate executive-level stakeholder engagement activities.
- Maintain stakeholder information within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Support international correspondence and relationship management.\
- Manage items in relation to the rich BWF and sport heritage, including the BWF Museum stakeholders.
3.3 Corporate Communications
- Drive adoption of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft Dynamics 365 across Corporate Services.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through digital technologies.
- Promote best practice in information governance and document management.
- Support implementation of new corporate systems and digital initiatives.
- Develop efficient workflows that improve organisational effectiveness.
3.4 Government & Strategic Relations
- Manage Malaysian Government relations
- Coordinate engagement with Governments, National Olympic Committees, International Federations and strategic partners.
- Prepare executive briefing material for high-level meetings.
- Coordinate official correspondence and stakeholder follow-up.
- Support strategic partnership initiatives as required.
3.5 Corporate Systems & Business Improvement
- Drive adoption of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft Dynamics 365 across Corporate Services.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through digital technologies.
- Promote best practice in information governance and document management.
- Support implementation of new corporate systems and digital initiatives.
- Develop efficient workflows that improve organisational effectiveness.
3.6 Leadership
- Lead corporate improvement projects and organisational initiatives.
- Foster collaboration across departments.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation.
- Demonstrate leadership through professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement.
3.6Decision Making & Authority
- Recommend improvements to governance and corporate administration processes.
- Prioritise competing corporate service requirements.
- Coordinate executive governance activities.
- Escalate organisational risks and governance issues.
- Exercise judgement when managing confidential information.
4. Key Relationships
Internal: Secretary General, COO, Directors, Managers, Council, Committees and all BWF staff
External: Member Associations, Continental Confederations, Governments, National Olympic Committees, Museum Stakeholders, Malaysian Government Departments, International Federations, commercial partners, consultants and technology providers.
5. Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualification in Business, Communications, Governance, Public Administration or a related discipline.
- Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience supporting executive leadership and governance bodies.
- Experience within an international sporting organisation or membership organisation is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Dynamics CRM experience.

7.Working Environment
This role operates within an international sporting environment supporting more than 203 Member Associations worldwide. The position requires collaboration across multiple time zones and occasional international travel to support governance meetings, Council activities and major BWF events.
