Job Description
Purpose of the role:
To provide claim handling and settlement authority and guidance on outsourced claims management, advice and support on business insurance requirements. To deputise for the Head of Insurance with the management of the global insurance programme when required.
The role involves handling a range of Commercial claims; Employers & Public Liability, Property, Motor Fleet, Cyber and Personal Accident & Travel for the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide claim handling and settlement advice to claims outsourcer.
- Brief incident investigators and claims outsourcer on new and existing claims as appropriate.
- Ensure all Entain stakeholders are advised and kept advised on individual claims and market claims developments as appropriate.
- Liaise with insurers and provide advice/guidance as appropriate on individual claims.
- Liaise with defence solicitors and provide guidance/support as appropriate on individual claims.
- Review and authorise claims bordereaux payments to outsourced claims handler and approve settlements within the deductible
- Work with Group Finance and external actuaries to maintain an adequate claims reserve for claims below the insurance deductible.
- To carry out any other task as may reasonably be required by the Company.
Key Accountabilities:
- Monitor and challenge where appropriate, the performance of claim outsourcers and defence solicitors.
- Lead and carry out audit and performance reviews of claims outsourcers.
- Assist preparation of company insurance requirements and insurer renewal submissions on all insurance covers, in particular, Motor, Employers & Public Liability and Property Damage & Business Interruption.
- Ensure an uninsured loss recovery programme is in place and where appropriate ensure recovery of any uninsured losses.
- Undertake analysis of claims data and report to operating divisions inc Health and Safety and other teams as required.
- Work with internal stakeholders to collate, verify and present claims loss information to insurers.
- Negotiate claims settlement amounts with insurers when required.
- Work with internal stakeholders on risk management initiatives and Internal policies such as Motor Fleet Accident Management and ad hoc motor fleet and driver enquires.
- Provide advice and guidance on supplier insurance requirements to internal legal team.
- Provide ad hoc support on all insurance and insurance claims matters as required.
- Deal with day-to-day enquiries
- Deputise for the Head of Insurance as required. This will include dealing with renewal of the insurance programme, providing and managing advice to senior colleagues and enabling our broker to market our insurance requirements.
Specialist skills and experience
As well as having appropriate Employers Liability & Public Liability claims experience; wide Commercial claims and general insurance knowledge are key requirements for this role along with excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, an ability to work well under pressure and be resilient in nature and a flexible and committed attitude.
A good understanding and experience of global insurance programmes.
Qualifications
An appropriate insurance qualification is also preferred.
