Job Description
As a Principal Engineer, you'll lead the full lifecycle of complex projects, from design to deployment. You'll be a key decision-maker in systems, infrastructure, and design, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Reporting to the Software Engineering Team Lead, you will be part of the Vanilla team, who develop the core framework for all of Entain's product applications.

What you will do
- Improve code architecture for testability and maintainability.
- Lead the design and architecture of high-performance, scalable, and secure web applications using .NET Core and Angular.
- Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, technical solutions that support strategic objectives and provide timely support to framework consumers.
- Drive Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new languages/frameworks.
- Ensure robust technical documentation and clear evolution of design.
- Balance quality, technical debt, and delivery timelines.
- Address security risks and integrate security measures.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-team initiatives.
- Participate in hiring and recruitment activities.
Qualifications
- Strong frontend skills (JavaScript, Typescript and Angular 2+).
- Deep expertise in .NET Framework/Core and C#.
- Proficiency in ASP.NET Core, SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with DevOps tools (Git, GitLab CI/CD, Visual Studio).
- A strong understanding of monitoring, logging, architecture, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong Agile experience, driving productivity through Scrum/Kanban.
- An extensive background in fullstack web development with .NET and Angular.
- Experience delivering complex projects in an Agile/DevOps environment.
