Help Us Shape the Future of the Commonwealth Games – Glasgow 2026!

The journey to Glasgow 2026 starts now – and we want YOU to be part of it! Get ready for a brilliant new era for the Commonwealth Games, blending world-class sport with a sustainable, future-focused vision.

In just over 400 days, Glasgow will transform into a global hub for sport and culture, welcoming 3,000 athletes from 74 nations, across 11 days of unforgettable action, fuelled by the city’s unstoppable energy and passion.

Glasgow 2026 is set to revolutionise the Games, with a bold, ‘Clyde Built’ experience that reflects the city’s resilience and innovation. This is more than just an event; it’s a movement – a celebration of unity, equality, and sporting excellence. A movement that will not only deliver a world-class sporting experience but will also create a lasting legacy, maximising social and economic benefits for the city and the Commonwealth. Don’t miss your chance to be part of something historic!

If you have a passion for sport and a drive for excellence and want to be part of creating something truly special, then Glasgow 2026 wants you.

The Role

We have a unique and exciting opportunity available to join the team as our Workspace and Facilities Manager. This role will place you at the heart of the action, working alongside experts to deliver a global event that sets the new standard for major sporting celebrations. You’ll gain hands-on experience and contribute to creating a world-class Games.

This is an opportunity to be at the heart of a world-class event, working with passionate professionals and visionary leaders who are committed to showcasing Scotland on the international stage as well as delivering excellence for athletes and local communities through your blend of creativity, precision and innovation to deliver a digital experience worthy of the Games.

This is a pivotal role in helping us create a high-functioning, welcoming, and inclusive home for the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company and our delivery partners.

You’ll be the driving force behind the day-to-day operations of our new headquarters – the beating heart of the Games planning – ensuring our workspace runs smoothly, adapts to a rapidly growing team, and reflects our collaborative and innovative culture. From sustainability and compliance to hybrid working and team events, you’ll make sure our HQ is much more than just an office – it’s where our Games come to life.

You’ll also play a key role in planning and project managing the set-up of our Games-time operations centres, working closely with departments across the organisation to ensure our facilities support an ‘altogether brilliant’ Games.

Job Summary:

As Workspace and Facilities Manager, you will lead all aspects of hard and soft facilities management across Glasgow 2026 HQ – including building operations, health and safety, equipment, digital systems, sustainability, and third-party supplier relationships.

You’ll be at the centre of our in-person culture, creating a vibrant and inclusive space that supports collaboration, productivity, and wellbeing. You’ll work closely with HR, Workforce Planning, Technology and Games Integration teams to adapt our workspace as we grow, and ensure our staff and partners have the tools and environment they need to succeed.

This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role – perfect for someone who is solutions-focused, personable, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Key Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will bring proven operational experience in managing headquarters or large facilities, with strong facilities management skills and a clear understanding of how to create a positive and effective office environment. Prior experience in overseeing all aspects of hard and soft facilities, such as maintenance, security, cleaning, and workspace planning, is essential.

A solid understanding of health and safety requirements is also required; however, Glasgow 2026 is committed to supporting the right candidate to gain relevant qualifications where needed.

This role demands excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.   You will be a confident problem solver with the ability to think proactively and deliver practical solutions to everyday challenges; working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a rapidly evolving team, where flexibility and adaptability are crucial.

Previous experience of managing a changing and growing workforce—particularly in time-limited or project-based organisations—is desirable. The ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands is key, along with a resilient and positive approach that supports the delivery of an inclusive and collaborative working culture at the Glasgow 2026 HQ.

Why Glasgow 2026?

As we embark on this exciting journey, we’re not just planning an event – we’re creating a new legacy for Glasgow and the Commonwealth. This is an opportunity to shape the future of major sporting events, bringing the world together for 11 days of unforgettable competition and culture.

We’re looking for well-organised, passionate, and driven people who are excited to roll up their sleeves and be part of an inclusive, forward-thinking, and sustainable Games. This is your chance to help set the new standard for global events while contributing to the city’s rich sporting legacy.
