Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

The resource will be involved in the following activities:

  • Develop venue-specific scenario plans for readiness exercises based on risk assessments, contingency planning, and established Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate and facilitate readiness exercises, including Table Top Seminars, Simulations, and Test Events, ensuring alignment with Venue Management's operational goals.
  • Follow up on all readiness activities by documenting and evaluating exercises, compiling debrief reports, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the refinement of Policies, Procedures, and Contingency Plans, ensuring they reflect the lessons learned from readiness exercises.
  • Ensure each venue has tailored contingency plans addressing unique risks and operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management, Security, Technology, and other departments to ensure comprehensive readiness planning.
  • Monitor the progress of venue readiness activities and provide regular reports to the Head of Risks and Issue Management and other senior leaders.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all venue-specific readiness exercises, evaluations, and improvement actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of the complexities and challenges in Venue Management for large-scale events (essential).
  • Understanding of risk assessment, contingency planning, and operational readiness exercises (essential).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple readiness activities and follow up on issues (essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Smartsheet, and SharePoint (essential).
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (essential).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to evolving priorities (essential).
  • Experience with venue readiness exercises and scenario planning (desirable).
