Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).
Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.
Position
This role is foreseen, accordingly to the new organization chart (under final approval), to focus on the implementation support of the sustainability requirements in all the operational activities inside competitive and non competitive venues at cluster level referring to Fondazione and under the collaborative support by several functional areas (FAs).
Many sustainability requirements (environmental and social) could not be implemented, or implemented at a lower quality level, due to the lack of competent resources dedicated to that at cluster and venue level.
The Sustainability and Impact function will not support the several FAs operating at venue level in the implementation of activities, monitoring and verifying the respect of requirements aimed to mitigate the environmental impacts and to expand the social ones.
He/she will:
- Coordinate and manage the supporting activities referred to the implementation of requirements (legislative and or voluntary) set up for every FAs at cluster and venue level;
- Support the verification of the respect of CAM and Sustainability Protocol for Temporary Infrastructures during the entire life cycle of the temporary infrastructure (venue working activities, setting up and dismantling and restoration of venue);
- Support to FA Operations (Energy, VDO, TRA, LOG, FNB, CNW, TECH, etc.) in the implementation of the rules and guidelines referring to the temporary and any permanent works at venue level referring to Fondazione;
- Coordinate and support the collection of sustainability information and kpi, to be elaborated for the Sustainability Protocol for Temporary Infrastructure, for the SUS and LGY Reporting and for the Carbon Inventory of Fondazione;
- Coordinate and support the verification on the implementation of the sustainability criteria (environmental and social requirements) in all the operational activities referring at the venues' work sites and during all the Games's cycle;
- Support the implementation of the Strategic Environmental Assessment requirements, defining legislative/prescriptions environmental registers for each cluster/venue, within Fondazione's responsibilities;
- Contribute to the implementation of the Sustainability Management System for the Olympic and Paralympic organization in all phases of its life cycle (standard ISO 20121);
- Support in the implementation of the carbon inventory (and eventual offsetting) of other permanent works under the responsibilities of SIMICO and other public entities and of other stakeholders;
- Coordinate and support the implementation of the verification program through EHS audits on direct or indirect activities (venues, working areas of permanent infrastructures, etc.);
- Support in the development and implementation, at cluster level, of specific projects aimed to apply and promote environmental and social measures / initiatives (e.g., circular economy, food recovery);
- Support any involved FA in the intervention and management in case of environmental or human rights emergency situations occurring in the cluster perimeter.
Requirements
- Master's degree in engineering, architecture, environmental sciences, with specializations related to environmental sustainability or Degree in economic or humanities disciplines accompanied by specific Master's programs in sustainability;
- 2 years of experience in the sustainability sector;
- Ability to coordinate and interact with other people and to communicate with professionals from different fields;
- Essential knowledge of English, intermediate level; knowledge of another language is appreciated, particularly German.
- Driver's license Category B
