Key Responsibilities
- Capacity Planning: Develop and manage detailed capacity plans for domestic manufacturing and distribution, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer demands. Monitor and analyze capacity utilization to identify areas of improvement.
- Labor Planning: Collaborate with HR and Operations teams to forecast labor requirements, balancing staffing levels with production schedules to maximize efficiency while maintaining cost control.
- Production Scheduling: Work closely with production teams to generate and maintain production schedules that align with both capacity and labor availability, ensuring on-time deliveries for B2B customers.
- B2B Demand Forecasting: Analyze historical production and distribution data alongside market trends to help forecast B2B customer demand. Adjust plans as necessary to meet fluctuating order volumes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and Sales teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of production, capacity, and labor requirements.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools to provide insights into production performance, labor utilization, and capacity constraints. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on performance metrics.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to optimize production and labor processes, drive improvements in operational efficiency, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve issues related to production capacity, labor shortages, or schedule deviations, ensuring minimal disruption to B2B customer commitments.
- Process Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of production and labor planning processes, ensuring consistency and compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience (or the equivalent) in production planning, capacity management, or supply chain operations, with a focus on domestic manufacturing and distribution.
- Strong understanding of B2B manufacturing environments, labor management, and capacity planning methodologies.
- Proficient in ERP and Data Planning systems (MicroStrategy, Oracle, O9, etc.), and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with production scheduling software or tools is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable presenting data and using dashboards for storytelling
- Ability to drive projects – design, execution, follow-through
Additional Skills (Preferred)
- Experience in licensed apparel preferred
- Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of labor union agreements or contract negotiations in manufacturing settings.
- Familiarity with demand forecasting tools and techniques, particularly in a B2B context.
