The role

At Huel, our customers always come first. We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to manage and lead our QA Engineers while remaining hands on with day to day testing and delivery. You’ll help shape QA standards and ways of working, collaborate closely with engineering and product teams, and support the development of a highly collaborative QA team based in Birmingham.

Here’s a snapshot of what life looks like as our new Senior QA Engineer:

• Managing and leading the QA Engineers, providing clear leadership and guidance within a highly collaborative team.

• Design, build and maintain scalable automated test frameworks, driving the implementation and continuous improvement of test automation across our products.

• Using a test-first approach to design, create and maintain automated acceptance and performance tests

• Translating test plans into a set of test cases which can be implemented in an automated framework.

• Learning new tech/libraries/frameworks that we feel can add value to our stack dedicated time is given for courses on new tech if needed and a half day each sprint for personal R&D).

• Owning the direction of platform strategy, standards, and procedures to drive stability, efficiency, and scalability, including accountability for performance metrics and reporting.

What we're looking for in you

• We're looking for someone ready to join us in May 2026.

• Proven experience managing and leading a team of QA Engineers is essential, including setting direction, supporting delivery, and developing individuals.

• Excellent knowledge of methodologies, including creation and execution of test plans.

• Proven ability to drive and improve processes.

• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks, with a strong track record of implementing test automation in previous roles.

• Experience of working with CI/CD pipelines, Playwright, Typescript, Postman and Jira.

• High level understanding of API and UI testing.

• Understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.

• Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing, and guiding development teams on it.

• Solid programming experience using OOP languages.

• Cross functional collaboration, determining overlaps and boundaries between teams.
