Job Description

The Senior Manager, Planning & Operations will focus primarily on supporting the day-to-day running of a 50-strong Strategy team comprising strategists, creative strategists and research & insights professionals. The role will also support other UK business functions, including, but not limited to, Business Development and Business Affairs.

We are looking for a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail – someone who can nail the fundamentals while continuously identifying new and innovative ways to add value and improve the way we operate.

In line with the varied and fast-paced nature of the Strategy team’s work, the individual must be able to juggle competing priorities effectively, manage stakeholders and cope well under pressure.

In addition to the more technical aspects of the role, it’s essential that the individual brings energy and enthusiasm, and contributes positively to the team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategy Team and Project Support

  • Keep an accurate and up-to-date record of new and ongoing projects, including timelines, financial information, deliverables and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on team capacity on an ongoing basis.
  • Own administrative processes for new clients and suppliers using platforms like Salesforce and Workday.
  • Work closely with Legal and Finance teams to ensure contracts are in place and payments are processed in an efficient manner.
  • Take the lead on all aspects of time tracking, e.g. creating and distributing project codes, generating compliance reports and training and supporting new members of the team.
  • Coordinate project kick-offs and wash-ups.
  • Create and maintain key templates and useful resources in a central repository.
  • Contribute to the collection and reporting of data related to team performance, profitability and utilisation.

Business Development (BD)

  • Provide administrative support to the BD team around new business opportunities, including but not limited to; tracking and reporting of BD opportunities,  coordinating kick-off and wash-up sessions, sharing key documents, capturing and circulating notes, actions and learnings.
  • Take the lead in providing company information for RFPs/RFIs.
  • Assist with preparing bios, case studies, and credentials for new business responses.
  • Assist with the collation and analysis of BD data

Business Affairs

  • Support account teams with requests for company information, including policies and procedures.
  • Help ensure client reporting commitments are being met.
  • Provide rate cards and contribute to the annual rate card review process.

Supporting People & Culture

  • Help plan and deliver internal events like team socials, team meetings, and away days.
  • Work with relevant internal teams (e.g. People & Talent and IT) to ensure smooth and efficient onboarding of new team members.
  • Support the planning and roll-out of learning & development activities.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Strategy Leadership team.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in an operational/administrative role.
  • A proactive, methodical and accurate working style, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • A preference for clarity, structure and consistency in how tasks are approached.
  • Confidence in juggling multiple pieces of work calmly and reliably.
  • Clear communication skills and a helpful, team-first mindset.
  • A willingness and ability to embrace new forms of technology to drive efficiency, including AI.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs and (ideally) platforms like Workday, Asana and Salesforce.
  • An interest in the world of sport and entertainment.
