Job Description
What you will be doing
Wasserman is seeking a proactive, senior and experienced individual to play a core role within the Wasserman Asia leadership team.
This person will be responsible for driving new and incremental Brands business across the Asia region, specialising in music and entertainment opportunities. The role requires excellent client and team management skills, playing a senior advisory role to account leads across relevant work streams.
The candidate will act as a senior voice in the region on the subject of music and culture, leveraging their extensive connections and experience in the music industry to promote and build the Wasserman brand and network throughout Asia.
Business Development
- Oversee the music growth strategy for the Wasserman Asia business, reporting into the Regional leadership team.
- Play a lead role in the development and presentation of client pitch proposals, working with experts from across the Wasserman global business, and our regional partners.
- Leverage the internal client network across Wasserman to drive incremental regional scopes.
- Proactively seek ways to positively PR Wasserman and our Brands and Properties music services, so we are front of mind when opportunities present themselves.
- Unlock relationships with new brands and partners in the region through networking, events, speaker opportunities & targeted thought leadership communications.
- Work closely with our Wass Music colleagues across the world, to maximise and leverage global music opportunities throughout Asia.
Client / Account Oversight
- Develop an excellent understanding of our client strategy and brand objectives, market and key competitor threats.
- Interrogate clients briefs to unlock the commercial opportunity for Wasserman.
- Advise on music partner proposals and lead partnership negotiations on behalf of Wasserman clients.
- Develop, coordinate and oversee robust partnership strategies and campaigns, delivering measurable results.
- Oversee KPI setting and campaign evaluation with client teams, partners, and Wasserman team.
Internal Communications
- Build strong relationships and foster good team spirit internally and amongst client teams and our partners.
- Draw upon senior experience from across the Wasserman business to optimise quality of work across all client accounts.
- Act as a conduit between the Global Wasserman Music team and Asia office, sharing insights, knowledge and news.
- Regularly share regional music industry knowledge and trends amongst the local and global teams.
Financial Accountability/Commercial Acumen
- Proactively track the Wasserman Asia pipeline across all new & incremental opportunities.
- Provide accurate reporting utilising Salesforce to monitor our forecast against budget.
- Identify opportunities for increased profitability across client work and areas for growth.
- Effectively oversee client budgets and reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
- 10+ years working within the global music/entertainment industry.
- Experience managing significant annual budgets agency, rightsholder or client side.
- Excellent client management skills - ability to manage senior clients and gain trust and respect of all stakeholders.
- Demonstrably grown business/revenue/growth for a single client or portfolio of clients, with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Team leadership – ability to empower, delegate and inspire a team, promoting a positive & flexible team culture.
- Excellent presentation skills (both writing and delivery) internally and to clients.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written – and attention to detail.
- Creative thinker, with an eye for spotting an opportunity and delivering on it.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a ‘can-do' attitude at all times.
- Deep knowledge of, and passion for music / entertainment landscape.
- Experience working in Hong Kong, Singapore and broader APAC region.
- Additional Asian language is an advantage.
