About the Esports World Cup
The Esports World Cup is a flagship global tournament featuring the world’s most competitive titles and elite players. With record-breaking prize pools, international reach, and deep cultural impact, it serves as a global stage for gaming excellence and fan engagement on an unprecedented scale.
Position Overview
Wasserman is looking for an experienced and commercially minded to lead strategic sales effort for the Esports World Cup as well as other properties within the wider esports and gaming space as needed. This individual will be responsible for securing tier-one brand partnerships and driving revenue growth through innovative, integrated sponsorship solutions.
This is a leadership role suited for a highly strategic thinker with deep expertise in brand partnerships, a strong network of senior marketing decision-makers, and a passion for the gaming and esports ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all sales and partnership efforts for the Esports World Cup, with accountability for revenue targets and pipeline growth.
Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market sales strategy, identifying key categories, prospects, and global markets.
Cultivate senior-level relationships with global brands across key verticals (tech, consumer goods, automotive, apparel, finance, etc.).
Create bespoke, insight-driven partnership proposals that align with brand objectives and maximize the Esports World Cup platform.
Collaborate closely with internal marketing, legal, creative, and client services—to deliver seamless partnership execution.
Represent Wasserman and the Esports World Cup at industry events, brand summits, and executive meetings.
Provide regular reporting on sales performance, market feedback, and commercial intelligence to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
8–12+ years of experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship sales, or brand marketing—preferably in esports, sports, or entertainment.
Demonstrated success closing high-value (7- and 8-figure) partnerships with global brands.
A strong network of brand and agency decision-makers across relevant industries.
Deep knowledge of the esports landscape, gaming culture, and digital media trends.
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and storytelling skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and international environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with or selling for esports IPs, gaming publishers, or high-profile global events.
Familiarity with data and performance metrics in esports and digital sponsorships.
Strong cultural fluency and understanding of Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
