Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Associate Vice President, Signature Events role is responsible for the strategic vision, operational management, and overall success of the Event Production Department. This role ensures the team, processes, and resources are optimized to deliver best-in-class live experiences while aligning with the company’s business objectives. The position focuses on leadership, departmental growth, financial oversight, and innovation, as well as knowledge/experience on event execution.

Additionally, the Signature Events Team will be tasked with innovation and the development of initiatives that will improve and support our existing work and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and implement a long-term strategy for the Signature Events Team to drive efficiency, innovation, and profitability
  • Align departmental goals with company objectives, ensuring a scalable and high-performing event production function
  • Identify trends, technologies, and best practices to keep the company at the forefront of the live events industry

Departmental Management & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing event production team, fostering professional growth and talent retention
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and workflows to optimize team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Design training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate the department’s expertise

Financial & Operational Oversight

  • Own and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability while maintaining high-quality event production standards
  • Implement operational processes, and best practices to improve production efficiency and mitigate risks
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and negotiations to optimize resources and partnerships

Cross-Departmental & Client Collaboration

  • Serve as the key liaison between the Event Production Department and internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, creative, account teams) to ensure seamless execution and alignment
  • Provide executive leadership with insights on department performance, capacity, and resource needs
  • Create and foster strong relationships with clients, reinforcing the department’s value in strategic planning and execution

Innovation & Industry Leadership

  • Research and report on new technologies, tools, methodologies, and trends to enhance production capabilities and client offerings
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and thought leadership opportunities
  • Continuously assess and improve sustainability and DEI initiatives within event production

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale event production, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of production operations, budgeting, and logistics, with a strategic mindset
  • Proven experience managing large teams and building high-performing departments
  • Demonstrate ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Skilled in active listening, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a strategic focus
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in negotiating vendor/partner contracts
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets
  • Willingness to travel up to 65% of the time, including weekends and evenings
  • Proven history of driving departmental financials and growth preferred
