Full Description

The Product Developer Manager is responsible for product development for overall assigned category and Team management. Manages overall product development activities from the 1st proto to bulk production readiness ensuring timely adherence by product Calendar timeline. Provides direction & oversight for all product development and monitor SMS quality by testing and also lead Risk assessment after proto and team out.
This role is also responsible for analyzing the development progress for efficiency and accuracy, consulting with management to fix items that are missing deadlines, and recommending corrective action plans.

Product Development

  • Manage PD team through Calendar to hit production buy-ready completion on time by working cross-functionally with PCC and Tampa teams.
  • Supervise material preposition and RMDS with the team before the concept starts.
  • Lead risk assessment with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead internal & external weekly team & factory weekly Touchbase.
  • SMS leadtime and also involve the buy ready on time.
  • Lead and monitor SMS testing to ensure if any quality issue on SMS stage
  • Solve the trouble issue, collaborating with XFT during the production

General

  • Manage the entire Product development process for the assigned brand/category.
  • Communication with Vendors and XFM.
  • KPI reporting to Vendors and Tampa team, including Scorecard.
  • Initiative for process innovation and accuracy
  • Prioritize and support daily workload for direct reports.
  • Lead, mentor, train team members
  • Issue resolution with the Vendor and XFM once it happens (critical issues).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Minimum 12+ years of related experience in Sportswear development & management
  • Technical Knowledge of fabric/trim/construction and product engineering
  • Experience working for a US global company with international offices working with factories throughout the region.
  • Strong Leadership, communication, and Problem-solving skills
  • A team player with good attitude & communication
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop others.
  • Proficient in product line management (PLM), databases & MS Office applications
  • Advanced Excel skill
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask & punctual in meeting deadlines.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively, often to foreign and/or remote locations.
  • Must be able to translate market-right designs into cost-effective garments while maintaining the quality and integrity of the product.
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong sense of urgency and intuitive sense of priorities and accuracy.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Thai (EH) or Spanish (WH) is required.
