WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Pre‑Press department is a key part of our production facility, ensuring that customer campaigns and live event products deliver the required impact. You will be responsible for setting up files for print and finishing production in line with deadlines, Job Bag direction, and material specifications.
You will work closely with Production, Studio, Print, and Finishing teams to ensure all projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Working within a busy and fast‑paced department, your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing pre‑press jobs daily in line with an agreed production schedule.
- Creating print‑ready artwork for production, completing full pre‑flight checks including colour setup and brand guideline compliance.
- Applying correct bleed, scaling, and image extension to artworks.
- Preparing files to suit agreed substrates, print machinery, and finishing requirements.
- Creating and managing cutter files where required.
- Nesting and tiling artwork to achieve the best possible material yield.
- Producing simple and fast‑turnaround artworks and amendments, maintaining quality control standards.
- Following campaign and event‑specific print and production guidelines.
- Communicating progress and issues to Production Managers and Department Managers throughout the day.
- Working collaboratively with the wider production team to achieve daily objectives.
- Using an online MIS system to manage workloads and job tracking (training provided).
- Demonstrating flexibility in working hours during peak production periods, including overtime when required.
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
- Proven experience working in a pre‑press environment, ideally within large‑format print production.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience working across both PC and Mac platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of pre‑press software and workflows.
- Good understanding of large‑format printing and finishing processes.
- High level of technical accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Confident, organised, and capable self‑starter.
- Takes pride in producing high‑quality work, remaining focused, calm, and motivated under pressure.
- Flexible approach to working hours to support business demands.
Please note, some weekend work and/or anti-social / long hours will likely be required as part of event delivery.
