Main goal
Join UEFA Club Competitions SA’s (UCCSA) Legal & Business Affairs team to play a pivotal role in the provision of all necessary legal support for UCCSA’s marketing and related activities in relation to the UEFA men’s and women’s club competitions, focusing primarily on media rights activities. You will be part of the exciting new future of the exploitation of the commercial rights to UEFA’s club competitions.
Key responsibilities
- Providing legal input and advice relating to the exploitation and implementation of media and other commercial rights across all UEFA club competitions
- Managing the provision of legal services for UCCSA’s marketing agencies in relation to the drafting of all relevant legal documentation including media rights agreements and other general commercial contracts and tender documentation
- Managing tender processes and contractual matters including liaising with and instructing UCCSA’s marketing agencies
- Providing legal support to UCCSA's commercial rights team primarily in relation to media rights matters
- Protecting the broader interests of UCCSA and the UEFA competitions from a business affairs perspective
- Cooperating and communicating with other lawyers within UCCSA, UEFA’s Legal Affairs division and the European Club Association
- Instructing external legal advisers

Experience:
- From 4 to 8 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or international organisation
- Experience of a commercial environment ideally in relation to the exploitation of media rights
- Experience of commercial law and commercial contract drafting and negotiation
Education:
- Qualified lawyer with outstanding academic qualifications
Languages:
- English: Native speaker or business fluent
- Proficiency in other European languages would be an asset
Other requirements:
- Strong core legal skills and an understanding of commercial business drivers, particularly in relation to media rights
- Strong management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage other personnel or stakeholders (e.g. UCCSA-appointed marketing agencies) in the fulfilment of legal requirements
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and oral communication skills in English
- Excellent project management, organisational and time management and the ability to prioritise to ensure the consistent delivery of multiple simultaneous projects to tight deadlines
- Professionalism, including reliability, a commitment to meeting high quality standards and deadlines and respecting budgets, capacity to plan and anticipate what will happen, a focus on efficient implementation, follow-up after completion, decision-making ability, accountability, integrity and discretion
- Experience of managing challenging situations with competing interests
- Team spirit: good co-operation with colleagues and counterparts, willingness to help and support others to reach common goals even under stress, proactive efforts to develop team spirit
