The Marketing & Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator will provide dedicated support across marketing and volunteer operations. The postholder will be responsible for creating and delivering marketing communications, managing partner relationships, and developing and implementing a volunteer recruitment and welfare programme. This role is critical in ensuring the success of our
events by driving effective communication strategies and ensuring volunteers are recruited, supported, and well-managed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing (60%)
- Develop and implement email campaigns for sales, partner engagement, and event communications
- Manage Gold Bond Charity & Business Challenge programmes for the Cambridge Half Marathon(CHM)
- Manage all partners below Tier 1, ensuring contractual rights are fulfilled
- Support the Marketing Manager with the delivery of email campaigns
- Coordinate with partners, including charities, to plan event presence and manage consumable orders
- Develop and maintain a partner rights system across events
- Manage and respond to media requests
Volunteer Recruitment & Management (30%)
- Design and deliver a volunteer recruitment programme, including policies, timelines, incentives,
and campaigns
- Manage volunteer shift allocation and fill rates using Rosterfy, integrating data into wider
communications plans
- Support onsite volunteer operations, including check-ins, briefings, and role deployment
- Oversee volunteer welfare, ensuring provision of uniforms, food, and camping pitches
General Support (10%)
- Provide administrative and operational support to the wider team as required
- Contribute to cross-team initiatives, assisting with ad-hoc duties during peak event periods
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Strong copywriting skills with excellent grammar
- Proven experience in producing and implementing email campaigns
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships, particularly with volunteers and community groups
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Flexible approach to working, including willingness to work evenings and weekends during events
Desirable Criteria
- Experience using Rosterfy or similar volunteer management platforms
- Previous experience in event marketing, mass participation sport, or large-scale volunteer coordination
- Knowledge of partner rights management and contract fulfilment

Additional Information
- Hybrid role with travel required to events and partner meetings
- Occasional overnight stays during event periods
