THE CHALLENGE:
As a crucial member of our dynamic team, the Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational excellence of our live services. The challenge lies in coaching, educating, and providing hands-on assistance to multiple teams within the tribe, fostering a culture of implementing world-class observability, monitoring, and SRE best practices.
The SRE team will be instrumental in helping squads achieve operational excellence, maintaining a 24/7 on-call rotation, and ensuring that squads meet the tribe's standard for service operability. With that in mind any candidate should be willing to participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation.
YOUR PROFILE:

Our ideal candidate is not just well-versed in DevOps principles and practices but also embodies them, possessing software development experience coupled with exceptional collaboration and communication skills. Not only should you be skilled in automation and technical troubleshooting, but your passion for SRE practices should be evident, reflecting a deep commitment to improving system reliability.
In this role, you'll be a key player working closely with development teams, actively promoting and implementing best practices in observability, monitoring, and SRE methodologies. Your contribution will be instrumental in advancing operational excellence among our development teams.

Required:
- A technical leader, with a passion for results.
- Experience working with or as a part of a DevOps function
- Software development experience, proficiency in crafting robust and scalable solutions
- Experience working and familiar with the concept and various tools related to containerisation platform, such as Docker, kubernetes, helm chart.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Effective communication, both written and verbal, to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- In depth Cloud experience with either AWS, Azure or GCP (at least 2 years).
- Experience with incident management processes and tools, such as Pager Duty, Service Now.
- Excellence with version control systems and application lifecycle management (Git / GitLab).
Desired experience:
- Previous experience line managing a small/medium sized team.
- Fluent in SRE patterns
- Proficiency in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, and Loki Knowledge of microservices architecture
- Familiarity with Java, Ambassador, Quarkus, Spring Boot, Redis, Kafka, and RabbitMQ
- Detailed knowledge of GNU/Linux OS (at least 4 years of experience w/ administration of production grade services running on Linux server).
- Proficient with IaC and Configuration Management tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Strong scripting skills (ability to write Bash script, Python / Ruby / Go / other).
