WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will report into the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and support our partners within Jordan Brand Apparel including key collaborations with Innovation, Design, Product Management, Technical Development, Sourcing and Manufacturing. You will need to work effectively within the materials team to ensure a strategic approach to developing new materials and maintain an understanding of how materials perform when in garment form.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for an innovative and curious Lead Apparel Material Developer with a passion for textiles and prints. The candidate will use their advanced technical materials knowledge, strategic thinking and collaborative skills to deliver creative seasonal material solutions for Jordan apparel. In addition, the candidate will drive long term strategic material initiatives and influence across the business to deliver optimized material palettes and tools. The candidate will ensure all materials are executed on-time through the commercialization process and work in close partnership with cross-functional partners to drive product excellence. A strong skillset in textile development as well as an understanding of the product creation process will ensure delivery of exceptional product for our athletes*.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training
  • A minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience
  • Passion for collaboration and contributing to a positive, high-performing team environment
  • Strong technical materials expertise, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing and finishing techniques
  • Proven ability to think strategically, connecting insights across functions to drive the advancement of development processes and tools
  • Proficient working with vendors to develop and test a material from inception to production
  • Experience interpreting design intent, offering alternative solutions, and acting as a technical material resource
  • Innovative thinker with deep knowledge of industry material trends and emerging technologies
  • Strong problem solving, organization and communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing resources and deadlines across multiple seasons
  • Strong information seeking-skills and a drive to proactively make things happen
  • Ability to network and utilize internal and external resources
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator and MS Office programs.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

In this role you will explore concepts in apparel materials from trend through technological advancements. This research will enable the collaboration with our product creation partners to deliver on the highest level of athlete* experience with a commercialized materials palette grounded in our key sustainability and business goals.

  • You will drive material development in partnership with vendors and manufacturing teams from concept to commercialization. This includes risk assessment, requesting testing, tracking and creative material solutions.
  • You will serve as a strategic advisor and mentor within the materials organization, providing technical expertise and driving high impact initiatives that shape long term material strategies.
  • You will collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups to drive innovation and cross functional alignment.
