WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
This role is responsible for serving as an operational point of contact for business operations teams, in country professional services as well as centralized vendor account management team for EHS function in EMEA. This role works in close collaboration with the EMEA Retail Real Estate/Facility Management and Store Operations Team and the Global Environmental Health & Safety program managers by coordinating the implementation of program initiatives and regulatory compliance governance activities. The role will report into the Nike Global EHS Director.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Knowledge & Skills: Advanced-level professional. Frequently advises others on complex matters; requires skills to understand complex work, such as in-depth knowledge or conceptual thinking.
- Bachelor's degree required in the relevant or a related field, or any acceptable combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in the relevant or a related field.
- Practical experience with EHS programs coordination and implementation preferably in Retail industry with multi-site and multi-national organization. Occupational Health and Safety professional certification is a plus (e.g. NEBOSH, CSP, ASP)
- Knowledge of EU OHSA Framework and relevant environmental regulations as well as awareness on variations of country regulations in EMEA
- Experience of working in matrix organization where cross-functional collaboration is key for holding partners accountable and delivering core responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
The successful candidate will be responsible for programs and policies in environment, safety, health, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection for the purpose of providing employees with a safe and healthful workplace, safeguarding the community, and protecting the environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate in country regulatory compliance activities closely working with vendor professional services centralized team, in country prevention advisors/H&S PMs, Store operations teams/HCs, Real Estate/Facilities and other Resilience Functions.
- Serve as EHS function POC for assigned countries including key cities for Nike Marketplace operations.
- Provide EHS in-country operational support for store opening preparations: I.e coordinating with vendor professional services for scheduling and documenting of regulatory required Risk Assessments and relevant documentation and Training for the store team.
- Create operational guidance for implementing compliance and procedures to follow of in case regulatory visits and escalation of warnings and official letters: I.e Procedure for Security Commission Visits (France); Regulatory Inspection Escalation Model (EMEA)
- Provide operational support for EHS function led trainings, workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities: Preparation of PPTs, meeting agenda, scheduling participating and facilitating conversation when needed. I.e RACI Workshop with FM
- Contribute to EMEA EHS team goals for identifying and prioritizing training modules for store operations with relevant timelines. Creation of additional training content in alignment with risk and injury trends. Delivery of EHS trainings for store Leadership Onboarding Sessions.
- Contribute on development of customized procedures for assigned initiatives in alignment with in-country OHSA requirements, Nike Global EHS policy and standards: I.e Pet Policy & Biohazards Safety Standards: Feedback sessions with business and legal. Cooperation with EHS Global to create aligned content for the business operations.
- Coordinate and support incident and injury response in assigned countries and key city stores. I.e lift incident investigation, follow up inspections, corrective action plans collaboration with LP, FM; Incident Escalation to Risk & Claims: Support to stores in linking with Insurer when incident dynamic requires so.
- Provide operational support implementing program initiatives and projects in-country or in-store pilots.
- Coordinate with vendor professional services account team for official appointments of internal and external health and safety units for Nike Retail entity in various countries with specific requirements.
