  • In Data Acquisition Tribe we create solutions to collect and process sports real time data globally for more than 60 different sports

JOB PROFILE:

We are seeking a talented Java Developer who relishes in a variety of data sources, real time processing, and low latencies APIs.
We assume you feel comfortable with analysing various sources, identifying the relevant data and then exposing them via fast APIs. Where opportunities for generalization exist, you should be able to identify them and collaborate with architects and other engineers to design and implement a real-time data streaming applications.

We expect that you can be an advocate of clean code, and clean architecture, TDD (Test Driven Development), pair programming and always welcome feedback. We hope you feel learning is a natural part of your workday and you have a high interest in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise. 

In the role you will:

  • Analyse and integrate sports oriented real-time data from a variety of complex sources
  • Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency APIs for sport data streaming
  • Utilize advanced knowledge in Java, Kafka, and modern development practices to implement robust microservice oriented applications.
  • Be a proponent of clean code and clean architecture.
  • Be accountable for your services throughout the entire delivery process, from design and development to implementation and monitoring in production.   
  • Collaborate with architects, tech leaders and engineers to innovate and refine data exposure, ensuring efficient handling streams, thus directly impacting the speed and accuracy of data-driven decisions.

Required:

  • Proven experience in Java
  • Familiarity with Kafka
  • Experience in building APIs and low latency systems
  • Hands-on experience in writing tests
  • Experience in designing and working on highly scalable systems
  • Familiarity with containerization ( Docker, K8s )
  • A can-do attitude, take pride in own work and an ability to keep up momentum

Desirable experience:

  • Familiarity with various AWS services including S3, EC, VPC, ElastiCache, MSK, etc
  • Fast and maintainable gRPC APIs
  • Worked in Agile development teams
