What you’ll do
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Indirect Tax(VAT) Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Indirect Tax Assistant Manager, this role will primarily support the preparation and submission of indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions where Flutter operates. In addition, the role will contribute to wider team initiatives, including tax authority audits and key strategic projects for the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or pivot into a career in indirect tax. Prior experience in this area is not required - we’re looking for someone with a strong willingness to learn and develop their understanding of global indirect tax principles. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, possess strong attention to detail, and be confident using technology-based solutions to support and improve tax processes.
Specific Responsibilities:

Prepare VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions using dedicated indirect tax compliance software.

Collaborate closely with Flutter’s Global Financial Control (GFC) team to support the review and submission of returns prepared by GFC.

Perform reconciliations of VAT returns to ensure accurate accounting within Flutter’s finance systems.

Assist in reviewing and maintaining indirect tax compliance process controls and documentation, supporting audit, SOX, and SAO compliance requirements.

Support the preparation of documentation for VAT-related queries and audits from tax authorities.

Liaise with Flutter’s Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate VAT treatment on invoices, escalating complex queries to senior team members as needed.

Contribute to ongoing indirect tax projects, taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering them to a high standard.

Assist in the testing, implementation, and maintenance of tax technology solutions used by the team.

Strong attention to detail with ability and desire to work to tight deadlines

Excellent digital literacy skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and interest in understanding and resolving systems issues

Experience of working with ERP systems would be a distinct advantage

Experience working in a similar environment with a proven track record in indirect tax is an advantage;

Business and financial acumen with experience in financial analysis and tax reporting
