Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.
We are driven by the following values: respect, determination, legacy, engagement and sustainability.
Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.
The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).
Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.
Position
The purpose of this role is to support the Milano Cortina 2026 Transport team in defining the temporary mobility plans to be adopted during the event.
For large-scale events such as the Olympic Games, it is necessary to implement extraordinary traffic management measures designed to meet the operational needs of the event and ensure the successful delivery of transport services for accredited individuals (athletes, staff, journalists, etc.) and spectators. However, these measures must also consider the needs of the local area, aiming to minimize disruptions for the host city.
The Host City Mobility Specialist Traffic will contribute to the planning, development, and operational management of the event mobility plans. This role will work both internally with the Transport team and other functional areas of MICO26, and externally with local authorities (Prefectures, Provinces, Municipalities) and road infrastructure operators.
- Support and coordinate the implementation of temporary traffic measures defined with local authorities (Regions, Provinces, Prefectures, etc.);
- Support and coordinate the implementation of a car pass system for residents, businesses, etc., to ensure operational continuity in the area;
- Draft operational plans (placement of traffic filters, activation time windows, required resources, etc.) in coordination with local stakeholders;
- Support in identifying the best solutions for managing spectator drop-off/pick-up operations and pedestrian connections with competition venues;
- Implement and/or support technical teams in analyzing traffic flows related to the event;
- Coordinate the delivery of the project during Games time.
Requirements
- Preferably a degree in Engineering, or alternatively in Architecture, Economics, or significant professional experience in the transport and/or major events sector;
- Excellent command of both Italian and English;
- Strong skills in data analysis, interpretation, and synthesis;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Illustrator is considered an added value;
