FUNCTION OVERVIEW
The Group Legal Function is responsible for protecting the Flutter brand, customers, and shareholders by driving a coordinated and strategic approach to Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory affairs. This includes shaping and supporting the Group’s Safer Gambling strategy and influencing decision-making across its divisions: FanDuel and International.
The function ensures that legal, compliance, and regulatory matters are managed through agile, risk-based frameworks and governance models. The Compliance team sits within this broader function, ensuring that the Group maintains a values-led approach to business and decision-making, underpinned by an effective and responsive compliance framework.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This role exists to support the implementation and oversight of the Group’s Compliance framework, ensuring compliance with both external regulatory requirements and internal ethical standards. The Head of Conduct and Integrity plays a critical role in maintaining high ethical standards, ensuring regulatory compliance requirements are known and owned appropriately, and managing misconduct and behavioural risks predominantly in our Hyderabad site, with some broader working globally with the team.
This role has a broad remit encompassing the following and in partnership with the Group Head of Conduct and Integrity:
- Governance of the Group’s Ethics & Compliance policies.
- Leading or supporting internal investigations into misconduct and policy breaches.
- Overseeing training, communication, and cultural initiatives related to ethics and business conduct.
- Managing compliance with the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013 in India, in collaboration with Legal and HR.
- Managing the Speak Up programme
- Working with Group Compliance to support in the identification of local owners for new and changing regulatory compliance requirements; or where control improvements are needed.
This is a key role that will work cross-functionally with Legal, HR, Audit, and where required, Divisional Compliance teams to proactively identify and mitigate ethics- and conduct-related risks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ethics and Compliance Governance
- Partner with the global team in ensuring global compliance and ethics policies in Code of Ethics, Anti-Bribery, Whistleblowing, Conflicts of Interest, and Gifts & Hospitality are embedded.
- Deliver regular training, communications, and campaigns to enhance compliance awareness and ethical decision-making.
- Monitor regulatory trends, support impact assessments, and drive necessary changes.
- Track and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to internal leadership and relevant governance committees.
2. Internal Investigations
- Lead or support investigations into alleged violations of laws, regulations, company policies, or ethical standards.
- Manage end-to-end investigation lifecycle: case intake, evidence collection, interviews, documentation, analysis, and closure.
- Ensure investigations follow legal, procedural, and ethical standards, and are completed with confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with HR, Legal, Security, and other stakeholders to drive fair disciplinary outcomes and remediation.
- Maintain investigation logs and provide regular analytics on trends, root causes, and organizational learning.
3. POSH Compliance
- Ensure the company’s full compliance with the POSH Act, 2013 and related internal policies.
- Coordinate the constitution and functioning of Internal Committees (ICs), including member training and capacity building.
- Lead or support investigations into POSH complaints ensuring legal timelines and confidentiality are upheld.
- Drive POSH training and awareness sessions in conjunction with HR for employees, managers, and committee members.
- Prepare and submit the annual POSH report to the District Officer as per statutory requirements.
- Work closely with HR and Legal teams to resolve complaints and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
- Monitor and report on trends, risk indicators, and proactive cultural initiatives to reduce workplace harassment.
4. Whistleblowing and Speak-Up Management
- Oversee the operation and promotion of the Group’s whistleblowing mechanisms locally.
- Ensure anonymous and confidential intake, fair triage, and appropriate routing of complaints.
- Manage end-to-end investigation lifecycle: case intake, evidence collection, interviews, documentation, analysis, and closure.
- Promote a speak-up culture by communicating policy protections and reinforcing leadership accountability.
5. Conduct & Behavioural Risk Oversight
- Provide compliance oversight of employee conduct.
- Support the development of standards and guidance on employee behaviour, ethical leadership, and conduct accountability.
- Providing professional advice and support regarding various compliance obligations and commitments requirements, both external and internal.
- Liaise with HR on culture assessments, training, and interventions for high-risk functions or teams.
- Analyze trends in misconduct and support proactive conduct risk mitigation initiatives.
- Take on other Compliance matters as assigned from time to time.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Partner with compliance teams, HR, Internal Audit, and Legal to ensure policy consistency and coordinated risk management.
- Present reports, case outcomes, and program metrics to internal governance bodies, where required.
Contribute to global benchmarking, regulatory inspections, and external reporting obligations, where required.
TO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE
- 10 years post qualification Degree-qualified in Law with 5–7+ years of relevant experience in compliance, ethics, investigations, or regulatory affairs in a multinational, regulated industry.
- Additional certification in Compliance, Ethics, or Investigations (e.g., CCEP, ICA, IBE, CFE) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting internal investigations into ethical or policy breaches.
- Working knowledge of POSH legislation and practical experience implementing workplace harassment prevention programs.
- Excellent report writing, stakeholder communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical capability and ability to manage sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Familiarity with investigation management tools, whistleblower systems, and compliance risk platforms.
