Full Description

In short

As the Director, Distribution & Logistics for the Americas at On, you will lead the strategy, scalability, and performance of logistics operations across our largest and most complex region — including the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. You will play a critical role in building the infrastructure, teams, and partner network needed to support rapid growth, while ensuring exceptional, premium delivery experience and cost-effective execution across all channels. This role serves as a key regional leader, partnering closely with global teams in Zurich and cross-functional stakeholders in Portland to shape the future of On’s logistics capability.

Reporting to the Leader of Operations, Americas, we are looking for someone with a strong strategic mindset, who is a builder of teams and an advocate for their people, and who has a deep understanding of supply chain management.

Your Mission

  • Co-develop and lead the long-range logistics strategy for the Americas region, aligning it with both regional growth targets and global operational capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and increased operational efficiency for all sales channels (Ecomm, Wholesale, Retail), while ensuring scalability and sustainability as volume and complexity increase.
  • Continuously review and optimize AMER operations processes and ways of working in partnership with peers and direct team, including demand forecasting, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution to future-proof the AMER network for 2-3x growth.
  • Implement best practices to streamline operations and enhance overall supply chain performance with the end customer in mind — elevating delivery experience and execution reliability as a competitive advantage.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team that is structured to regionally scale for growth. Provide clear direction, set performance objectives, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Establish strong relationships and manage to a high level of premium performance with key logistics partners within our 3PL and carrier network. Monitor regional contracts, oversee performance metrics, ensure timely delivery of our apparel, accessories, and footwear products and support onboarding of new nodes and service models.
  • Serve as the D&L lead in S&OP/S&OE execution and GTM operations planning across channels, aligning supply with demand, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.

Your story

  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand planning, procurement, logistics, and distribution, returns and circular product lifecycle. Experience working with 3PL/4PL partners is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and 8-10+ years direct experience building a team
  • 15+ years experience in supply chain or logistics leadership at least 7+ years leading multi-country, multi-node logistics networks in a fast-scaling, multinational CPG or retail environment
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing regional logistics strategy, aligned with commercial growth, digital transformation, and long-term cost/service optimization
  • Strong business acumen and experience aligning to a go-to-market calendar and process, with detailed knowledge of omni-channel impacts and requirements into Operational strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels across time zones.
  • Track record of influencing global stakeholders and representing regional D&L needs in global forums (e.g., global supply chain councils, systems roadmaps)
  • Deep expertise in change leadership, operational excellence, and driving transformation initiatives (e.g., automation, sustainability, control towers)
  • Skilled in navigating complex regulatory environments and leading operational risk mitigation across diverse markets (e.g., LATAM, Canada, U.S.)
  • Executive presence and communication ability to represent operations in GM-level discussions, global strategy alignment, and major escalations
  • Ability to travel 25–30% to support regional scale, vendor leadership, and global alignment

What to expect

We want to set everyone up for success, so here’s the lowdown on how we hire. Our process is a two-way street – bringing you into our culture, while helping us learn how you think.

Our full process can last about eight weeks from application to offer, because we care about getting it right. These steps explain how we usually do things.

Before you get started, feel free to consider if you want to work with us. Strange question? Well, we give people a lot of space to navigate their day-to-day and that style isn't for everyone. We want you to be passionate about what you do and be sure this is the right fit. Because when skills and passion combine – it creates that 'Wow' moment.

  • Step One

    It starts with you...

You'll start by submitting your application to a specific role. We try to keep this step as simple as possible. We do get a lot of applications, but we review them all. We ask that you allow around 14 days for us to come back to you with a response. If you are a good fit to the role, someone will follow up with you within that window. If you didn't receive a reply, or were unsuccessful this time around, we encourage you to look for other possible matches at On.

  • Step Two

    Interview with a recruiter

What ignites your spirit? This is where we’ll start getting to know all about you and what makes you tick – and it’s your first chance to get a feel for our culture. Chatting with a member of our talent team, you’ll learn more about On and how we work. We’ll learn about what motivates you and what you could bring to the team.

  • Step Three

    Interview with a hiring manager

Ready to dig into the details? This second interview will be held with your future manager and will focus on the specifics of the job. Together you’ll delve into your unique skills and experiences and how they could be relevant at On. It's also a time to assess how you might feel working side-by-side. Bring any questions you have about the job, the team or anything else you might like to know – this is an open forum.

  • Step Four

    The Case Study

What's your style? This task will help us understand how you think, face a challenge and give insight into your novel ideas. Designed to give everyone their best shot, your case study is based on something you might typically experience on the job. This is your chance to show us what you’ve got. So express yourself. Be you.

  • Step Five

    The Experience Day

Your first taste of the Oniverse. This is a time to meet some of the people you'll be working closest with. In person or virtually, you'll get a feel for the day-to-day at On and the people who make it happen. You'll chat with a few potential teammates - the conversations will be as equally driven by the role and your experience as by our values. We believe how you do things is just as important as what you do.

  • Step Six

    The Result

Are we a good fit? We’ll get together internally to share our feedback and decide if we’re a match. We know that job searching is a big time investment, so it’s not a decision we take lightly. It’s also time for you to reflect on the experience – are we the right place for you? No matter the outcome, we’ll give you meaningful feedback.
