Job Purpose:
Lead and elevate the Shooting high-performance program. Develop and implement strategic training initiatives that enhance athlete precision, mental focus, and competitive readiness across pistol, rifle, and shotgun disciplines. Foster the growth of elite shooting talent through structured development pathways, optimizing athlete support systems, and ensuring alignment with SOPC’s high-performance standards. Drive program excellence, maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, and uphold standards in safety, quality, and compliance to achieve success in national and international competitions.

Leadership
§ Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative work environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and the achievement of organizational goals.
§ Mentor and develop managers and senior staff, ensuring the effective deployment of resources, talent development, and performance management within the division or department.
Strategy & Planning
§ Lead the development and execution of strategic plans and initiatives within the business unit or function, aligning with the organization's overall objectives and long-term vision.
§ Collaborate with senior leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans, ensuring key performance indicators are established and monitored.
Policies, Systems, and Procedures
§ Ensure the effective implementation of organizational policies, systems, and procedures, regularly reviewing and updating them to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
§ Monitor the application of governance frameworks and risk management practices within the function, ensuring adherence to established policies and identifying areas for process.
Job-Specific Accountabilities
Strategic Program Development & Execution
§ Lead the design and delivery of the Shooting high-performance program in conjunction with event specific coaches, setting strategic goals that address both technical mastery and mental resilience.
§ Work with event specific coaches on overseeing the integration of structured training cycles that develop trigger control, breathing coordination, body stability, and target focus across all shooting disciplines.
§ Ensure alignment with ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) standards and best practices to maintain program competitiveness.
Athlete Development & Performance Optimization
§ Develop individualized athlete training plans alongside event specific coaches, incorporating data from performance tracking systems, including shot grouping, reaction times, and psychological consistency under pressure.
§ Integrate sports science services, including vision training, biomechanics analysis, and stress management, to support athlete development and injury prevention.
§ Oversee collaboration with mental performance coaches to enhance concentration, emotional regulation, and competition focus.
Talent Identification & Pathway Management
§ Lead partnerships with national shooting federations and regional academies to identify and nurture emerging shooting talent.
§ Design development pathways from grassroots through elite levels, ensuring continuity in athlete progression and technical growth.
§ Support transition of promising athletes into senior competition levels through targeted mentoring and exposure to international events.
Competition Readiness & Event Coordination
§ Coordinate all aspects of competition preparation, including range acclimatization, mental rehearsal routines, and event-specific equipment checks.
§ Supervise training camps, technical tuning, and psychological readiness sessions prior to key national and international competitions.
§ Conduct post-competition analysis to refine shooting strategies and adjust training based on athlete performance and outcome metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement & Resource Allocation
§ Manage stakeholder relationships across SOPC, the National Shooting Federation, and relevant international bodies to support the program’s strategic direction.
§ Oversee the allocation and management of program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources across training, equipment, travel, and competition support.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
§ Drive innovation by integrating new technologies (e.g., electronic scoring systems, eye-tracking devices) into training environments.
§ Promote a culture of feedback and continuous learning, incorporating insights from athletes, coaches, and analytics into future planning.
§ Stay current with global advancements in shooting techniques and sports science, ensuring the program remains at the cutting edge of high performance.
