Role Summary:
The Divisional Talent Lead will work closely with the Divisional Talent Director on all talent matters to ensure that the best talent is recruited, developed, and retained to support Flutter’s critical mission and extraordinary purpose of powering the future of online entertainment. They will implement effective localized talent strategies and programs which serve local needs and complement global strategies.
They will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, align fully with the Divisional Talent Director and the Talent Strategy for the senior global team and cascade best practices as appropriate to UKI and Flutter Functions down to ‘Head of’ level. As an individual operator, they will deliver through influence and relationships as a partner to key stakeholders while also demonstrating the capacity for direct, hands-on impact.
The role formally reports to the Divisional Talent Director (Flutter Functions & UKI), working closely with managers in the Division/Region/Function as an embedded leader in the Division and with the relevant HR colleagues. The role is instrumental in creating a diverse and inclusive workforce while upholding both Flutter’s values and its employee value proposition.
Talent Strategy
- Lead on the talent strategy implementation for the critical roles at Director and Head of level (and the pipelines for those roles, (i.e. TTBO – Talent to Bet On) within the Division/Region/Function, aligned with Flutter’s global objectives, across talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, organizational design, and learning and development for the Division.
- Drive the best practices, capabilities and talent philosophy throughout their organization as appropriate, and upskills leaders and HR colleagues as required, ensuring high quality transparent talent management through the Division.
- Partner with business and HR leaders to understand divisional talent needs and provide guidance and support in workforce planning and talent pipelining.
- Proactively identify and highlight any risks with respect to the proposed talent strategy and execution.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in talent, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to enhance Flutter’s talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, organisational design, and learning and development practices.
- Leverage relationships with external suppliers (e.g., headhunting firms for recruitment, career coaches for development opportunities, etc.).
Talent Acquisition
- Collaborate closely Divisional/Region/Functional Talent Acquisition leads on end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding, to ensure a positive candidate experience and delivery of quality hires (down to Director Level only)
- Provide timely feedback and drive a mindset of continuous improvement on recruitment strategies and processes, using data and analytics to drive insights and enhance recruitment effectiveness.
- Partner with the employer branding team to execute effective employer branding and talent attraction initiatives.
Talent Development
- Proactively use data-informed insights from real-time and formal assessments of talent to identify development opportunities for senior leaders and critical role holders.
- Suggest and source (from the broader talent team) bespoke programmes of management education for leaders in scope of the role.
- Work closely with the global talent team, providing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and achievement of recruitment goals, and driving a mindset of continuous improvement.
Organizational Design
- Partner with business leaders to implement OD strategies that bring alignment with Flutter’s Divisional and Group objectives.
- Embed the Flutter Edge into the Division and across the Operating Companies, ensuring a balance between efficiency and autonomy.
- Assess talent and structures within acquired businesses during integration.
DEI & Sustainability
- Actively promote and advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives, ensuring a diverse talent pipeline and fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Champion sustainability and social responsibility initiatives, promoting Flutter's commitment to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years’ experience in talent, preferably gained in technology-enabled, fast-moving, dynamic international organizations.
- Shown understanding of organizational development, talent development, and talent acquisition strategies, techniques, and best practices.
- Proven track record of running multiple priorities and comfortable working with ambiguity.
- Experience leading confidential and price sensitive data.
- Executive-level communication, presentation and negotiation skills - ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Gains trust and support of others; engages networks to get stuff done rather than depend on authority and seeks out opportunities to partner across organizational boundaries.
- Big thinker, constantly explores and analyses future scenarios and possibilities to help organizations change and shape the future.
