Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Management of EMEA accounting operations, oversees all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, cash accounting, payroll, tax compliance and financial reporting in accordance with local GAAP and US GAAP standards.
  • Ownership of EMEA consolidation reporting ensuring monthly deadlines achieved and full reconciliations provided.
  • Ownership of the EMEA statutory reporting books and associated reconciliations.
  • Follow structured monthly close and reconciliation review process in order to complete a month-end close within five business days.
  • Ownership of Corporate division financials ensuring robust variance analysis provided alongside implementation of any corrective steps and plans needed to achieve the financial targets.
  • Oversee regional reporting packs and management reporting for Consolidated financials.
  • Lead role in evaluating, developing, implementing and documenting new accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes in GAAP, tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates and manages the annual group, UK and EMEA audits ensuring deadlines are achieved and a high standard of working papers and supporting documentation provided.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Ownership of EMEA risk register ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigation measures regularly evaluated and assessed.
  • Support Director Tax EMEA to ensure full compliance for tax, VAT and other relevant taxes in the EMEA region.
  • Manages accounting integration and purchase price accounting of acquisitions and/or new business ventures and quickly establish robust financial controls and align to group accounting policies.
  • Review company payroll processing to ensure accuracy and proper compliance.
  • Oversee a weekly cash and long-term cash flow planning process for all corporate groups working in conjunction with VP Treasury.
  • Resolve non-standard issues and challenges, using strong judgement and leadership skills.
  • Management of accounting staff to ensure deadlines are met, records are accurate, and controls remain intact.
  • Manage, mentor and support the development of accounting staff, including training and/or personal development needs, approving annual leave, performing pay reviews and performance appraisals and goal setting.
  • Promotes a supportive team environment and provides work direction and guidance including coaching, professional development and training. Monitors and analyzes team work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Identify potential process efficiencies & contribute towards a high standard, continuous improvement culture.
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

The above forms the main areas of responsibility for this role, but it is not exhaustive, and it should be noted that duties may change over time, so the need for flexibility is key and the jobholder will be expected to co-operate with reasonable changes as required.

QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE

  • 7+ years PQE with a recognised UK professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or overseas equivalent or demonstrate expertise in a similar role
  • Demonstrable success in a senior accounting role with international affiliate experience.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

  • Minimum of 10+ years in accounting roles with a minimum of 4+ years at senior management level
  • Experience of managing and supervising an accounting team, including setting objectives and conducting annual appraisals
  • Ability to multi-task effectively without losing quality. Tenacious, persistent and highly motivated with advanced organisational, analytical and people management skills
  • Experience working in Sports / Talent industry
  • Experience working in a multi-national company
  • Experience of Workday ERP
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications specifically with Excel. Ideally Pivot tables & VLOOKUPs.
