VENUE COMMERCIAL SENIOR SALES EXECUTIVE
Location: Old Trafford Stadium/ Carrington Training Complex

At Manchester United, we believe that excellence on the pitch starts with excellence off the pitch. Our team thrives in a high-performance environment, united by a shared passion for success. We aim to elevate the standard of performance through collaboration and continuous growth, creating a space where everyone can contribute their best to our common goals.

We work together at our iconic Manchester United offices, enabling connection and innovation as we look ahead to what we can achieve as a global football club. We are excited to bring in passionate people who share our vision and drive for success.

The Role:

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of sales objectives across the Museum & Tour, Catering, VIP experience sales and United Events businesses by executing day-to-day sales activities, developing new initiatives, establishing and maintaining relationships, and contributing to a seamless customer journey. Working closely with the wider commercial, operations and marketing teams, the role plays a key part in converting enquiries into confirmed bookings, driving revenue through new and upselling opportunities, and ensuring all sales touchpoints reflect the highest standards of service. This role is vital in maintaining momentum behind campaigns, supporting operational alignment, and helping the department meet its commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Execution & Support

  • Support sales delivery across the Museum & Tour, Catering, VIP experience sales and United Events businesses by responding to enquiries, ensuring timely follow-up with clients and working with the wider team to finalise deals.
  • Work alongside the Venue Commercial Manager to help drive revenue by executing planned sales activities and promotions.
  • Use your knowledge and experience to identify new opportunities and prepare proposals for the business which outline fan experience and commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to effectively communicate offerings and upsell relevant services to potential customers.
  • Ensure sales materials, listings, and information across all channels are accurate, current, and optimised to support conversion, including cross promotion of different products.
  • Assist in coordinating with the Marketing Team to help execute sales-driven campaigns and track their impact.

Stakeholder Engagement & Sales Growth

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. operations, marketing, event delivery) to ensure smooth execution of sales, event delivery and excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Support outreach initiatives to grow the sales pipeline by identifying new customer segments and assisting in prospecting activities.
  • Assist in driving demand for products by using techniques such as match-by-match offers, supporting targeted sales pushes and tactical campaigns.
  • Monitor and input sales data to support performance reporting and identify areas for upselling or improved efficiency.

Sales Team Support & Development

  • Support team targets by staying organised, responsive, and proactive in handling leads and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and 1:1s to track personal performance and contribute to team objectives.
  • Assist in onboarding new clients and maintaining ongoing relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.

The Person:

Skills & Experience

  • The ideal candidate should be versatile – a proven ability to convert enquiries into bookings, a natural flare for new commercial initiatives and attention to detail in supporting sales delivery.
  • They will have experience in a customer-facing sales environment and be confident communicating with a wide range of customers, both verbally and in writing.
  • The candidate should also have some experience in identifying and capitalising on sales opportunities and thinking holistically about how to optimise and cross promote different products.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, booking platforms, or sales tracking tools is beneficial, along with the ability to manage multiple leads and tasks simultaneously.
  • A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service is essential, as is the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
