BREAK THE ICE!

Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

We are driven by the following values: respect, determination, legacy, engagement and sustainability.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

TRA FA plays a pivotal role in the Arrivals and Departures (A&D) operations, from the planning phase to the delivery of services on the ground.

The role will be instrumental in completing and finalizing the planning phase and will evolve into a more operational position during Games Time. This key figure will be based at either of the Ports of Entry (POEs) — Milano Malpensa or Venezia Marco Polo — which will serve as the primary access points for most stakeholders entering the Milano Cortina Winter Games. The position will also act as an on-ground point of reference, coordinating TRA operations within the designated Arrival and Departure Zones.

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing ground transport operations, leading a large team to ensure effective service delivery. It involves coordinating with stakeholders to identify and meet the transport needs of Olympic and Paralympic clients for Arrivals and Departures, ensuring client satisfaction through a well-organized transport plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Finalized POE Operational Concept Delivery of a detailed operational concept for each Port of Entry (POE), aligned with the Games Plan, specifying service levels, client flows, access control, and stakeholder roles - VTOPs.
  2. Integrated POE Transport Plan Development and submission of the integrated transport plan for all Arrivals and Departures (A&D) operations at POEs, aligned with client groups’ needs and the Games Master Schedule daily.
  3. POE Staffing & Rostering Plan Completion of workforce planning, including detailed staffing matrices, shift rosters, and leadership roles, to ensure sufficient and trained personnel for each operational day.
  4. Daily Operational Run Sheet (Games Time) Production of the daily run sheet and escalation protocols for each POE, including task timelines, resource deployment, issue logging, and contingency plans.
  5. Vehicle Allocation & Flow Strategy Delivery of the vehicle flow and allocation strategy at POEs, ensuring efficient integration with fleet, VAPP (Vehicle Access and Parking Permits), and load zone management.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in airport or any transport operations, preferably in a large-scale or multi-stakeholder environment (e.g., events, aviation, logistics, or emergency services).
  • Leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage diverse on-ground teams and engage with multiple stakeholders under pressure.
  • Planning and organizational abilities, especially in managing complex operational timelines and logistics across multiple sites.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in Italian and English (C2 level) – written and spoken.
  • Able to work independently, organize activities proactively, and share information transparently with the ability to negotiate solutions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in operations or project management, with a focus on delivering services and solving problems efficiently.
  • Experience in client relationship management within structured and complex organizational environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including strong proficiency in PowerPoint.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on major sporting events (e.g., Olympic Games, World Cup, Pan Am Games) or other events.
  • Experience in transport planning for international sport events
  • Familiarity with the Olympic and Paralympic stakeholder environment, and the ability to adapt transport planning to their operational needs.
