Team Lead Case Management

THE POSITION
These are your key tasks:

  • Supervise and manage the Case Management team within the Player Registration & Transfer Data Department, setting goals and prioritizing the work of the team.
  • Continue increasing the efficiency and quality of the processes of Electronic Player Passport (EPP) and training rewards claims, by drafting methodology guidelines, ensuring common standards, enhancing automation and distributing the team's workload following data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Provide substantial comments and feedback to legal documents and general matters related to training rewards and the Player Registration & Transfer Data Department, including draft Regulations, commentaries, explanatory notes, memos and similar.
  • Act as a single point of contact in the interactions of the Case Management team with any other relevant internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to the TMS and Operations teams, Regulatory Governance & Compliance Department, Disputes & Regulatory Applications Department, FIFA Disciplinary Committee, Litigation team, the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Football Tribunal and others.
  • Lead the review of the EPP processes performed by the Case Management team, including the analysis of documents and information, communications with relevant parties, validation and final decision.
  • Handle complex legal cases related to the EPP review process and training rewards claims on behalf of FIFA, escalating to the Dispute Resolution Chamber of the Football Tribunal if needed.
  • Research and analyse the decisions on training rewards of FIFA General Secretariat, the FIFA Football tribunal and CAS, setting up a database of relevant jurisprudence.
  • Provide support to the Head of Department, supporting the definition and execution of the strategy of the Department.
  • Mentor other team members, advising on substantive legal matters, as well as efficient ways to allocate time and resources.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

  • At least 8-10 years of relevant experience, in a senior legal/regulatory position within an international environment
  • Proven track-record in managing teams and workloads
  • Understanding of football law, the international transfer system, its regulatory framework and the TMS platform are an asset
  • Familiarity with data science and analytics tools is an asset
  • University degree in law
  • Master's degree in international law, sports, business, economics or related field
  • Bar admission or equivalent qualification
  • Accuracy and detail orientation, combined with a pragmatic approach when solving problems
  • Autonomy and excellence, positively impacting the efficiency and quality, resulting in an optimal service to the stakeholders
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Critical judgement: ability to separate essential issues from side-issues
  • Solution orientation and innovation skills, with great ability to embrace changes and new technologies and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work under pressure: commitment to deliver high-quality outputs in a timely manner
  • Ability to define strategic goals, give clear directions and lead and empower other team members within the Case Management team
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in any other FIFA language (French and/or Spanish) desired
  • Proficient in Excel / Word / PowerPoint / PowerAutomate
  • Affinity to IT tools related to data analysis and visualization, ideally Power BI
