About the Role

Primary Purpose

Lead all planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis for Fanatics Canada. Merchandise planning across leagues, channels, department and class level to help maximize Fanatics Canada financial results.

Key Responsibilities

Annual Planning

  • Develop annual sales, receipt, markdown and inventory plans by league, department and category
  • Build monthly receipt plans to support sales targets and other company priorities
  • Ensure monthly inventory levels are sufficient and appropriate to support sales

Reporting and Analysis

  • Recaps business weekly and make recommendations to drive business and achieve financial goals
  • Responsible for the analysis, data interpretation and developing solutions / action plans

Inventory Management

  • Identify potential sales opportunities at the macro and item level
  • Item exception reporting to identify opportunities
  • Review and react to fast and slow sellers

Forecasting Process

  • Formulates weekly sales, receipts, inventory updates and direction
  • Responsible for driving the monthly forecast process with the respective merchandising team
  • Focus on timely and accurate forecasts leading to more proactive business decisions

Hot Market Focus

  • Ensure initial inventory levels are sufficient to maximize sales while minimizing markdown risk
  • Provide pre and post event analysis (buy quantities, sales, sell through, etc.)

Systems Development and Support

  • Intense focus on data integrity
  • Identify on-going replenishment and reporting enhancements

Position Requirements:

  • Passion for sports and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Result-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to think objectively and interpret quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently drive and deliver financial results and goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written, verbal and listening communication abilities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence tools, Merchandise Planning solutions
  • High aptitude and desire to learn technical applications quickly
  • 4+ years of retail or equivalent experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required (3.0 or greater)
