Full Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Material Handler is a key player playing a vital part in providing support to our various Departments in moving product to their appointed destinations, tracking quantity of merchandise, and will be trained on moving trailers within the yard. The Sr. Material Handler will be trained to utilize pallet jacks (manual and electric), on the forklift (stand-up and order picker) and/or yard hostler. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond quickly to priority requests according to workflow through prioritization and daily planning
- Compare incoming and outgoing shipments to bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records to verify information.
- Responsible for receiving merchandise /product as they arrive at the DC
- Loading and unloading freight from Trailers/Containers/Box Trucks
- Enters information into our internal system to maintain up to date inventory
- Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
- Handling returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication
- Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products
- Perform and report cycle counts upon request
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Operate a pallet jack (Manual & Electric) to move merchandise in the warehouse
- Ability to operate a Forklift/Rider to load and unload merchandise and move supplies in the warehouse
- Able to satisfactorily pass a Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR)
- Able to pass practical examination demonstrating competency handling and operating yard and material handling equipment.
- Must take and pass a defensive driving course provided by certified vendor.
- The ability to work in a warehouse home team fast-paced environment, with a winning set of communication skills.
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours depending on the daily work volume.
- Have your game on to work a shift with overtime, as necessary (i.e., flexible hours & days)
- Familiarity with Professional Sports Leagues and Teams is a plus.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Average knowledge in reading and understanding bar codes on boxes utilizing RF scanning equipment (preferred).
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more, reaching & bending when offloading and separating shipments.
- Computer Skills (preferred)
