THE POSITION
These are your key tasks:

  • Support the implementation of FIFA's sustainable sourcing and supply chain due diligence
    practices and further develop and implement necessary policies and processes to comply with
    due diligence requirements of the Swiss Ordinance on Supply Chain Due Diligence related to
    Child Labour.
  • Coordinate, support, and provide advice on the FIFA World Cup 2026TM sustainable sourcing
    practices across the three tournament organisers. This includes working closely with FIFA26
    sustainability and human rights staff based in Miami, Mexico City and Toronto, as well as
    relevant project teams within FIFA.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with the requirements of the FIFA Sustainable Sourcing Code.
  • Engage, coordinate with and provide advice to internal functions, including Procurement,
    Legal and Compliance as well as relevant functional areas (project leads).
  • Identify sustainability risks along the supply chains and ensure appropriate management
    thereof. This includes the management of FIFA's existing merchandise due diligence
    programme with the support of an external consultant.
  • Integrate relevant sustainability requirements in Request for Proposals (RFP).
  • Participate in the technical evaluation of proposals against sustainability criteria.
  • Integrate sustainability requirements in supplier agreements and contracts.
  • Monitor, measure and analyse performance across requirements and maintain accurate,
    complete, up-to-date and accessible information records.
  • Ensure legislative reporting requirements are met.
  • Whenever required, engage with suppliers to ensure contract terms and conditions as
    well as the requirements of the FIFA Sustainable Sourcing Code are fulfilled.
  • Provide advice and support on the establishment and implementation of FIFA World Cup
    2026TM and FIFA Club World Cup 2025TM on-site supplier monitoring programme as
    required (e.g. supplier engagement, auditing, coordination and implementation of
    corrective actions where needed, etc.)
  • Close collaboration with and integration of members of the Division on subject-matter
    topics (i.e. human and labour rights, diversity, accessibility, waste, etc).
  • Support the Head of Department and the Sustainability & Environment team in the
    implementation of the initiatives under the FIFA World Cup 2026- Sustainability Strategy.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in developing, implementing and overseeing sustainable
    sourcing and supply chain due diligence policies and processes for complex, multi-tier, global
    supply chains;
  • Work experience in the field of sustainability (experience with sports and/or events is a plus);
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures to meet legal supply chain
    due diligence requirements a strong plus;
  • Experience of working in dynamic, fast-moving, complex, fixed timeline, multi-stakeholder
    environments;
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability (human rights, environment, business ethics etc.) issues,
    particularly related to international supply chains. Technical expertise on environmental issues,
    particularly focusing on GHG and other air emissions, waste and water management, circularity, biodiversity conservation and use of chemicals a strong plus;
  • Experience in working with international social and environmental audit standards (i.e. BSCI,
    SMETA, etc);
  • Knowledge of international supply chain management tools, e.g. EiQ a strong plus;
  • Proven track record in generating productive stakeholder relationships that successfully deliver sustainability/sourcing outcomes;
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Capacity to judge how to best attain objectives in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary work
    environment;
  • Quick learner with ability to grasp complex structures, projects and relationships in a short
    timeframe;
  • Capacity to work autonomously with a good judgement on when to seek support;
  • Self-motivated, extremely well-organised, proactive and accurate;
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner;
  • Flexible and easy-going, but hard working and deeply committed;
  • Proficiency in English. Further languages are a plus;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams),
    smartsheet and in working with the internet;
  • Interest in worldwide socio-political developments;
  • A passion for sustainability.
