Job Description

ABOUT US:

Join our division, “Sportradar ad:s”, where we provide data-driven marketing and sponsorship services to the iGaming industry. Our purpose-built tools and services cater to the individual marketing needs of sportsbooks and media publishers worldwide. Imagine working in an environment surrounded by sports data, live play-by-play statistics, virtual sports, microservices, and betting – all while maintaining an agile mindset and a commitment to delivering exceptional value for our customers. We’re passionate about our work and deeply care about our people. If you’re ready for the challenge, join us in growing, innovating, and developing!

The Sports Data team is the engine that powers other teams within the division, delivering the data they need through APIs to fuel innovation, enable new feature and drive value to the customer. Utilizing cloud-native technologies we master real time data, crawl feeds and automate scalable microservices - all deployed via infrastructure-as-code (IaC).

THE CHALLENGE:
As a (Senior) Software Engineer for Sports Data (m/f/d) at Sportradar, you will work on various parts of the software stack, contributing to API development, testing and documentation. You’ll be part of a collaborative cross-functional team and play a crucial role in delivering quality software that provides business value. This position is an exciting opportunity for engineers who are passionate about using cutting-edge technologies to build scalable, reliable systems. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, learning from peers, and growing in an innovative environment, we’d love to have you join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute and grow as part of a small, self-organised, agile software development team.
  • Build robust and scalable back-end services and APIs for our advertising technologies using modern frameworks and tools.
  • Participate in designing and developing reliable, secure, and efficient data pipelines and systems while keeping your focus on quality,  observability, and security.
  • Coach and develop team members by providing feedback and technical guidance.

ABOUT YOU:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in agile software development.
  • Professional experience developing in at least one high-level programming language.
  • Professional experience with back-end related technologies such as Go, Node.js, Python, Java, etc..
  • Passion for clean code and testing.
  • Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Keen interest in new technologies and learning.
  • Familiar with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure.

You might be a good fit if you

  • Enjoy helping other engineers on your team to improve their skills (development and soft skills).
  • Take ownership, proactively lead changes and improvements to best practices and code-base.
  • Are a full stack developer with a focus on backend development.

OUR OFFER:

  • A collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world (Engineering offices in Europe, Asia and US) including various social events and teambuilding.

  • Flexibility to manage your workday and tasks with autonomy.

  • A balance of structure and autonomy to tackle your daily tasks.

  • Vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups which welcome all participants.

  • Global Employee Assistance Programme

  • Calm and Reulay app (leading well-being apps designed to support focus, quality rest, mindfulness, and long-term mental resilience).

  • Flexible working hours.

  • Online training videos.

While we appreciate the flexibility and benefits of working from home, we strongly believe that coming together in person fosters stronger connections, encourages collaboration, and drives innovation—both as individuals and as a company. The energy, shared ideas, and team support we experience in the office strengthen the foundation of our success and culture. For this reason, we are an office-first business operating on a hybrid model, with team members working in the office three days a week to build relationships, exchange ideas, and grow together.

We relocated to our office near the Nordbahnviertel in the 2nd district of Vienna in Q1/2024. Due to the top inner-city location, we are excellently connected to the public transport network and the cycle path network and are therefore very easy to reach. In addition, we offer our employees a state-of-the-art infrastructure near the center of the most livable city in the world.

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Initial Screening: A quick chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to understand your background and expectations.
  • Technical: Theoretical Interview: 60 minutes to discuss your technical skills on the theoretical level with the technical team.
  • Technical: Coding Interview: 60 minutes of live coding where we do not access the end result but rather the candidate's approach (clean code and thinking process).
  • System Design Interview: 60 minutes to solve a high-level problem with certain requirements.
  • Final Steps: Receive final feedback while onsite visit might be requested and, if successful, an offer!

We keep it simple and aim to wrap up the process within 3 weeks.

Buckle up, hold on tight and get ready for an incredible adrenaline-rush throughout this exciting ride with us: #maketheteam and shape your future as well as ours!
