Description
The Senior Manager, Safety and Security will lead the safety and security planning and operations for their area of responsibility, to include FIFA™ related sites, in addition to servicing the participating teams, and millions of fans.

The Senior Manager, Safety & Security will be physically located in the following cities:

West Region:

  • Seattle, Los Angeles

Central Region:

  • Nashville

East Region:

  • Philadelphia, New York / New Jersey, Atlanta, Miami

This role will be responsible to oversee the successful and safe delivery of operations in these cities and related FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ and the FIFA World Cup 2026™ sites. In addition, this role will support the implementation of the team security strategy and work closely with Team Security Liaison Officers.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Safety & Security Operations, this critical role will manage the planning, coordination and implementation of the comprehensive safety and security functions within the participating cities, stadiums, and supporting cities where team facilities will be located.

Working closely with FIFA counterparts from the Safety & Security Department, the Senior Manager will have oversight of safety and security functions in their assigned area of responsibility.

THE POSITION
The main responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Safety and Security include:

  • Participate in the multi-agency, Safety and Security Taskforce and serve as the FIFA representative on various other working groups and joint coordination groups related to the sites.
  • Support the development and implementation of the safety and security strategy, aligned with the objectives of FWC 2026, Inc. and FIFA Zurich.
  • Liaison with state and local security agencies to support overall tournament security planning and coordination and prevent and respond to potential security threats and incidents.
  • Develop plans to ensure a coordinated and measured approach reflecting the highest standards of safety, security, service, and community engagement.
  • Manage a multifaceted team responsible for delivering across a range of safety and security areas, including third parties (suppliers, local security teams, etc.).
  • Participate in the budget planning process for safety and security functions, collaborating with other functional areas and teams, as needed.
  • Work closely with other FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ and FIFA World Cup 2026™ leaders and departments, including Planning & Integration, Stadium Management, Venue Management, Facilities, Operations, Technology, Cybersecurity, and Legal to ensure safety and security considerations are integrated into all planning and execution processes.
  • Participate in safety and security assessments of all related venues and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with strategic partners and FIFA™ Venue Teams to incorporate safety standards into the overall safety and security planning.
  • Participate in safety and security assessments of all FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ and FIFA World Cup 2026™ stadiums and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety and security protocols related to transportation, accommodation, and other services for players, team personnel, key stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of safety and security operations at stadium and venues (hotels, training sites, team base camps, etc.) and communicate with the Regional Director of Safety and Security.

In accordance with Washington and California's Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. This estimate is based on this position being performed in Washington, and the range may not apply to similar positions in other locations. In determining actual base pay, FIFA 26 considers candidate education, experience, and other job-related factors allowed by law.

An employee's position within the salary range will be determined by various factors, including relevant education, experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, geographic location, performance metrics, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business needs.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree or similar education / experience in safety, security, policy development, and event management.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in safety and security for large, complex organizations, with a focus on large-scale events. FIFA™ tournaments experience considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of sport event safety and security planning and standards.
  • Experience with the FIFA™ Stadium Safety and Security Regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of risk and crisis management and emergency preparedness.
  • Proven track-record of building and/or managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders for a high-profile organization.
  • Experience working in multicultural environments.
  • Experience in the sports industry is an advantage.
  • Experience in building and leading effective teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
  • Proficient in Open-Source Intelligence Tools, patron screening technology, biometric identity solutions, enterprise access control technology, and video analytics systems.
