Do you want to manage all aspects of fabric and trim procurement and take part in the continuously improving of quality and internal processes to enhance project outcomes?
Join us as our Senior Material Manager and be an integral part of our apparel product development team. You'll play a key role in sourcing materials, innovation and trimmings for multiple apparel collections, conducting market research, purchasing raw materials, managing production planning, and providing support for all apparel collections. MATERIAL EXPERT
In this role you'll be responsible for sourcing and developing fabrics and trims in close cooperation to Design and Product Development. Consideration of design, procurement, quality and sustainability aspects will also be part of your role.
MATERIAL RESEARCH
You’ll search for new material innovations and trends on respective fairs, during supplier pitches and within your network.
COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT
You'll be responsible to support the development and design team in order to secure materials and material data according to diverse collection timelines. You’ll be involved in developing consistent collection themes and responsible to schedule and monitor all data’s in detail.
COSTS & QUALITY
In close cooperation with the quality team - you’ll help to constantly improve products and quality related processes. You’ll track and lead the target costing process for respective materials and communicate with suppliers during the whole product lifecycle.
EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
that matter most for this role:
- 5+ years’ working experience in apparel / trimmings development
- Knowledge of textile purchasing processes and raw materials
- Familiarity with functional textiles and garments
- Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Illustrator; experience with PLM/Centric C8 is a plus
- Highly organized team player with a passion for fashion and functional apparel
