Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Director to lead and grow our brand client partnerships. This role will leverage quantitative and qualitative research, industry expertise, and client-specific nuances to craft strategic partnership recommendations that feature strategic decision-making tools, specific recommendations, creative and activation guidelines and a measurement framework. This
role will also work closely with the client team to “look around the corner” and anticipate the needs of the business and new whitespace opportunities for client partnerships, experiences, executions, or a new lane where they see the marketplace trends moving.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage account team(s) to provide strategic marketing services to corporate clients, specifically in the areas of sports and entertainment strategy, sponsorship and activation.
- Evaluate and measures strategies and execution and reports the results to senior management and the rest of the client team.
- With senior leadership direction and oversight, lead strategy and design for clients and relationship develop programs to meet core business objectives across multiple business units.
- Provide day-to-day internal leadership and guidance for Directors on activation plans and scope of work execution.
- Create a positive, collaborative, teamwork environment based on the company culture and values.
- Promote a team environment and provides work direction and guidance including coaching, professional development and training; guides team on deliverables and ensures best practices with project management.
- Supervise organization of staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies; set performance goals and conducts performance evaluations.
- Oversee and facilitates deal structures and negotiation strategy of accounts; manage client, agency and internal teams to craft the best business structures for clients entering or renewing agreements in the digital, sports or entertainment arena.
- Develop and cultivates relationships with clients, sports property and media partners as well as agency teams and third-party vendors.
- Maintain oversight of all client-related budgets for assigned client accounts.
- Lead regular client status meetings to keep the client informed and to receive direction on new and existing projects and initiatives.
- Understand the landscape for each client’s business/sector as well as the media context for their investments. Build cutting edge strategic plans for clients to meet/exceed objectives.
- Build relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.
- Use forward thinking initiative to identify the next best strategic opportunities and continue to deliver top results to the client.
- Intercede when issues arise between partners and programs; work diligently to create solutions for clients.
- Work closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
- Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed and quality standards are met.
- Understand company capabilities and service and effectively communicates all offerings to the client.
- Be a part of new client pitches and play a role in responding to RFPs.
- Think daily about business development and new revenue opportunities with existing clients and potential clients.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
- 11+ years relevant experience with minimum 7 years of direct experience in account and project management in a supervisory role (preferably in the sports or entertainment field).
- Working knowledge of project management fundamentals.
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel for deck development and budget management.
- Possess exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Superior interpersonal skills and be able to create a rapport with people of all demographics.
- Proven Account Management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships.
- Possess social perceptiveness and understands behavioral nuances in deal negotiations.
- Strong leadership capabilities to motivate team to accomplish goals and develop professional skills.
- Motivated, goal-oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
- High level of initiative and works well independently and in a team environment.
- Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think creatively when planning the track strategy, taking into account program needs and budget parameters.
- Effective contract negotiation skills and familiarity with contractual language.
- Requires self-management, including the ability to ability to assess a situation and quickly implement solutions.
- Must be able to multi-task and be flexible enough to react under stressful circumstances.
Base salary range: $130k - $155k, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role.
