Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
The Global Non-Trade Procurement team is creating value for adidas by delivering opportunities beyond sustainable negotiation success. As a strategic business partner, we provide market insights and trends to our global stakeholders. Stakeholder Management, Sourcing Management, Category Management and Supplier Management can be considered as our main areas of activity.
Lead the Global Marketing Non-Trade Procurement team including:
Definition, commitment and realization of goals, in alignment with the VP Non-Trade Procurement/ CPO and the overall Non- Trade Procurement targets, as well as with the respective business stakeholders
Responsibility for implementing, leading, best practice methods, processes and policies
Managerial responsibility for your respective Non-Trade Procurement area
Meeting compliance targets with company policies, strategies and processes
Delivering towards the committed annual Non-Trade Procurement ambitions
Driving innovative approaches and continuous improvement practices
Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Management
Be the representative/Single Point of Contact (e.g. escalations) of your managerial area in context of all Non-Trade Procurement related topics
Be accountable for all NTP service delivered for selected business stakeholders
Partner with relevant stakeholders (based on power mapping approach) to effectively build business relationships enabling them to achieve their business targets and to drive overall business stakeholder satisfaction.
Oversees demand intake and ensures proper workload distribution within the team
Understand and manage business needs and address solutions incl. latest trends from the supplier markets
Directs and coordinates business expectations in line with Category strategies and policies
Take full responsibility to drive project pipelines to achieve negotiation success ambitions
Sourcing Management
Lead, execute and/or oversees sourcing projects
Develop, align and implement sourcing strategies in the framework of a sourcing project (e.g. (e-)RfX, Single Source, risk assessment, supplier base assessment, internal and external analysis) in alignment with the Category Strategy
Engage with respective stakeholders and suppliers in context of the sourcing project
Oversees contract implementation (local/global) and contract compliance
Be in charge of, coordination and/or negotiation of large sized contracts up to final authorization
Category Management (if applicable)
Drive and lead the development of global strategies to address business needs incl. risk and supplier base assessment
Market Trends: Perform a comprehensive market research to understand the current and potential future market trends and new innovations related to service scope of the category
Internal Requirements: Follow-up with Business Stakeholder Managers on a global level to obtain current and future needs of their stakeholders to consider in their category strategy development
Drives category council meetings on a regular basis including upskilling of Sourcing Managers
Ensures updates and maintenance of all category relevant information (e.g. Supplier Rostering) in the Non-Trade Procurement Database
Benchmark category practices to identify initiatives for improvement and drive innovative approaches
Define P2P and buying channel strategies, identify and consider automation potential
Act as an advisor/escalation point for category related issues towards Sourcing colleagues and drive resolution in line with global Procurement policies
Takes full responsibility of consolidation and communication of category achievements (financial or other))
People Management
Responsible for salary reviews, recruitment, selection, performance assessment, on-boarding and transitioning of resources
Drive the effective implementation of resource planning
Ensures compliance with relevant statutory or external regulations and codes of good practice
Ensures appropriate leadership skills are present at every level through creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development
Allocates the different work to the respective employees considering experience, complexity, workload and organizational efficiency
Continuously monitors and evaluates team workload and organizational efficiency, analysis team feedback and makes appropriate changes to meet business needs
Provides team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and the Non-Trade Procurement objectives
Supplier Management
Act as Point of contact for assigned key supplier(s)
Lead supplier development activities based on supplier partner management strategy
Drive cross-functional review meetings with key suppliers in order to improve performance and further cost reductions
Develop and nurture relationship with supplier to explore further capabilities and drive future innovation
Communicate any updates from key suppliers towards the Procurement organization
Monitor the performance of the key suppliers, including key performance optimization such as
• fulfillment towards their contractual agreement
• benchmarking according to industry standards
• managing risks
Identify potential contract improvement opportunities
Establish regular Business Review meetings together with the key supplier
Act as Advisor for Stakeholder/Category Manager related to key strategic suppliers
Internal: Non-Trade Procurement team, Global Business Services teams, Key Business Stakeholder Functions, Key Business Partners (Legal, Finance, etc.), Executives
External: Suppliers: Executives, Key Account Managers & Legal Counsel
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expert in strategic sourcing and procurement methodologies and execution processes as well as supplier management
Extremely good knowledge of Procurement strategy development and conveyance
Advanced knowledge of Procurement tools and data, content and automation
Strong ability to analyze specifications and influence demand
Expert in risk and compliance management
Extensive capability to independently interact throughout the adidas organization
International project and process management knowledge and experience
Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
Proficiency in MS Office
Fluent in English, to a business standard, spoken and written, additional language skills are advantageous
Travel of up to 30%
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
A degree from an accredited college or university (Bsc./Msc.) with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
At least 15 years working experience in similar or adequate roles (Marketing/Marketing Procurement), preferable with international project and people management elements
Proven expertise/extensive experience in leveraging AI technologies in the area of Marketing production. Strong understanding of integrating AI solutions to enhance and streamline processes. Ability to innovate AI-driven strategies.
Experience in a global / matrix structure, working with shared service centers is desired
Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading international team
