You will be instrumental in crafting and editing compelling, exclusive, and original editorial content for all foxsports.com.au platforms, while also supporting our vibrant social media channels. Your primary focus will be on delivering timely, high-quality coverage that not only elevates user engagement but also expands our dedicated audience base.
Reporting to the NRL Digital Editor, this fast-paced and challenging position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our digital presence and the way fans experience NRL.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce, commission, edit and publish high-quality, accurate articles and multimedia content across foxsports.com.au and associated platforms, with a strong emphasis on speed, engagement and driving subscriptions to Foxtel and Kayo products.
- Break news and deliver exclusive, authoritative coverage across key sports, particularly NRL ensuring Fox Sports consistently leads the news cycle on breaking stories, live events and trending topics.
- Identify emerging storylines, trends and talking points to ensure Fox Sports leads the NRL news cycle
- Cover live events, matches and key moments with real-time digital content and analysis
- Collaborate with the NRL Digital Editor and broader editorial team to execute content strategy and daily coverage priorities
- Optimise content for digital performance, including headlines, SEO, social distribution and audience engagement
- Promote content across site and social channels using compelling story sells, imagery and video
- Build and maintain strong relationships with players, clubs, agents and key stakeholders to support news gathering and exclusive content
- Work closely with Fox League production and on-air talent to amplify cross-platform storytelling opportunities
- Contribute to a positive team culture, sharing knowledge and supporting junior reporters where required
About your experience
- 5+ years’ experience in digital sports journalism, with a strong focus on NRL or rugby league
- Proven ability to break news and develop exclusive stories in a competitive media landscape
- Deep knowledge and passion for NRL, including players, clubs, and key issues shaping the game
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills tailored for digital audiences
- Demonstrated experience using social media and digital platforms to drive audience growth and engagement
- Strong understanding of SEO, analytics and digital content performance metrics
- Ability to work at pace and deliver under pressure, particularly during live events and peak periods
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proactive, reliable and adaptable, with a strong team-first mindset
