The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Accreditation Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of the accreditation programme for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games — a mission-critical role at the heart of operational success.
From athletes and team officials to media, volunteers, contractors, and VIPs, you’ll be responsible for making sure that the right people have the right access, at the right time, and in the right place. That means overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of a secure and scalable Accreditation Management System (AMS), while also coordinating across dozens of internal functions and external partners.
Your remit will be broad, fast-paced, and highly collaborative. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Games Operations, Security, Venue Delivery, Sport, Technology, and the Games Family to gather requirements, plan delivery, define access zones, and support the seamless integration of accreditation into venue operations.
This isn’t just a technical or administrative task — accreditation is one of the key enablers of Games-time success. Your work will support the safety and efficiency of the Games, enable the smooth operation of all competition and non-competition venues, and shape the overall experience for thousands of people attending, working at, or taking part in Glasgow 2026.
You’ll lead a small, dedicated team, ensuring they’re trained, informed, and ready to support Games-time delivery. You’ll also oversee the operation of Accreditation Distribution Centres and help desks, troubleshoot in real-time during peak periods, and support reissuance or access escalation processes.
Above all, you'll bring a calm, methodical, and solutions-focused approach to a complex and constantly evolving project — one where planning, precision, and people skills are just as important as technical delivery.
This is a high-profile opportunity to play a critical role in one of the most visible operational functions of the Games, delivering behind-the-scenes impact on a global stage.
Job Summary:
As Senior Accreditation Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of the accreditation programme for Glasgow 2026 — a critical function supporting access, security, and operations across all Games venues. You'll oversee the full accreditation lifecycle, from system setup and stakeholder coordination through to Games-time distribution and post-Games deactivation.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that all accredited individuals — including athletes, officials, workforce, media, and VIPs — have the right access at the right time, enabling seamless operations and a safe, secure Games. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners, manage a small team, and uphold standards in data protection, operational readiness, and user experience.
Key Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you'll bring proven experience delivering accreditation or identity management systems within major events, sporting competitions, or other large-scale operational programmes. You’ll have strong project and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of coordinating complex timelines and requirements across multiple functional areas. A deep understanding of access control, zoning principles, and event security operations is essential, along with the ability to work confidently with sensitive data and uphold data protection standards.
We’re looking for someone who can communicate clearly and diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders, manage suppliers and technical vendors effectively, and lead teams under pressure — particularly during peak operational periods. Experience using accreditation platforms such as Atos, eAccreditation, or other custom-built systems would be advantageous, as would any background in delivering previous Commonwealth, Olympic/Paralympic, or multi-sport events.
Familiarity with badge printing, QR/barcode scanning, or related logistics, and an understanding of venue operations or field-of-play requirements would be helpful. Exposure to agile or hybrid project management approaches is also desirable.
You’ll be organised, calm under pressure, inclusive in your leadership, and motivated by delivering a safe and successful Games.
