WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will be part of the Korea Finance Controlling team and report to the Korea Corporate Accounting Manager. You will partner closely with finance and non-finance stakeholders across multiple locations, including Global Controlling, Global Finance Operations (Record-to-Report and Source-to-Pay), Treasury, and cross-functional teams such as Legal, HR, Marketing, and Technology to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
NIKE is looking for a Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced, matrixed global environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative Expenses) accounting activities, demonstrates ownership of month-end close processes, and partners effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You are detail-oriented, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and motivated to drive process improvements while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or finance
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and local statutory accounting (K-GAAP preferred)
- Hands-on experience with SAP or comparable ERP systems is required
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities
- Fluent in English with effective written and verbal communication skills
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will own key general ledger activities for NIKE Korea, ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with global accounting policies and local regulatory requirements. You will play a critical role in the month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and ongoing process improvements across the accounting function.
- Lead monthly close activities for SG&A-related transactions in accordance with NIKE Global Accounting Policies and GAAP
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support quarterly and annual reporting packages for APLA
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, retirement, and monthly depreciation, in partnership with the Global Capex COE
- Review payroll accounting data and coordinate with third-party vendors on withholding tax and related filings
- Support data collection for VAT and Corporate Tax filing processes in collaboration with Finance Controlling teams and external accounting firms
- Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements under K-GAAP
- Manage prepaid expenses and long-term deposits, ensuring accurate accounting and timely amortization
- Review intercompany transactions and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
