Fixed Term Contract from September 2025 to Summer of 2028

The Role
The Programme Manager will work closely with internal functions, UEFA and Government Partners to monitor progress against a tournament roadmap and programme plan, reporting internally, to top management, and across the partnership.

The role will champion an integrated way of working across the Tournament by ensuring all colleagues and stakeholders are working in an aligned and collaborative manner.


What will you be doing?

Programme management

  • Management and education of programme management tools to facilitate engagement and collaboration  across the organisation
  • Monitor the programme plan and ensure timely delivery against milestones.
  • Ensure the roadmap for delivering the tournament is accurate and reflects the overall status of planning and progress
  • Lead programme meetings with functional leads to ensure an integrated planning approach
  • Build effective relationships with internal functions and Government Partners to deliver tournament priorities
  • Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies across all UK&I 2028 projects, ensuring all risks have detailed mitigating plans
  • Provide programme management expertise to internal functions to support priority objectives being achieved.
  • Provide business planning support to the SLT as required

Reporting

  • Responsible for KPI reporting to ensure organisation is on track to meet strategic objectives.
  • Maintain oversight of the risk log and ensure it is reported on in line with the organisation’s Risk Policy
  • Create high-quality outputs using Microsoft Office for senior leadership and stakeholder forums.
  • Use data from programme management tools to create clear and accurate status reports both internally and externally
  • Lead on the development of content for key meetings as required
  • Review papers and reports and provide feedback or input as required
  • To support with the writing and coordination of the post tournament report
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

What are we looking for?

Essential skills and experience

  • Previous major event programme management experience
  • Writing high quality reports and/or dashboards for senior management and key stakeholders
  • Dealing with sensitive and complex matters
  • Working under pressure in a fast-paced environment, delivering work to deadlines and honouring commitments, with a high level of initiative
  • Proven skill in stakeholder management – both internal and external
  • A capable communicator and highly personable
  • Have meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Strong proactive issue resolution capability
  • A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and planning and reporting software
  • Advanced report writing skills
  • Advanced presentation skills (creation and delivery)
  • Advanced communication skills

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience in a management consulting environment
  • First-hand project delivery experience e.g. event management etc.
  • Previous experience of line management
  • Formal qualification in project management
  • Effective use of AI

Where is the role based?
Our head office is based at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, however depending on your role you may be required to travel across the UK and Ireland to our 9 Stadiums and 8 Host Cities, with some roles being based in those locations.

As an event delivery organisation, it’s important that we have regular time together in the office and currently employees come together at least 2/3 days a week at HQ in Wembley, with the number of days in HQ increasing as the project develops with a minimum of 3-4 days needed in 2026-2027 and full time in the year of 2028.
